Edited by: Neamess on 18/12/2003 21:20:12 Its been nearly a day since the last attempt to fix standing losses and the problem still exists. Well for me anyway, seems to be alot of people running missions without problems.
If our petitions are going to be answered with a link to the news page and a comment about watching the page for updates wouldn't it be appropiate to have some kind of news about the problem? Being directed to a page which claims the problem has been fixed when it has not does not really help the situation.
WTB: Rant & Flames forums to vent some steam.

"you will still be able to use your existing lvl 3 agents after the patch even if you dont have a high enough standing"
Well yes i did, one mission in 48 hours. How hard is it to work out that in my situation restoring my standing to what it was prior to castor isn't going to make a bit of difference?
Perhaps if the time was taken to actually read petitions rather than assume, "oh other one of these, send him to the news page" (which states the problem has been fixed.) It may have been rectified.
So what should i do next? I've sent numerous "calm" petitions, politly asking whats going on, detailing the problems and when i am lucky enough to get a reply its basically telling me im lying and the problem has been fixed. Posted on numerous threads in this forum, and others, also on the blog.
Yes i am whining, in my opinion i have good reason too. I think anyway else who has been stuck in a station for 2 days, unable to play the game while everyone else is happily carrying on as normal would be annoyed too. I mean its not like im paying to be able to do nothing, or even that ive taken time off work just so i could get a quick start on the new system.
I accecpt bugs, i may not be a techie but i know from my own personal experience that where pc's are concerned anything than can wrong usually does, even more so when your rushing something. What i can not accept is being left in the dark for days at a time, which from perspective means ccp dosn't really give a ****.
To make things worse i work within a purchasing dept of a large company and am used to seeing suppliers of goods and services bending over backwards to keep their customers happy and working their asses off to sort any problems. A company with the CS abilities of CCP wouldn't last one contract with us. I'd bet they would be facing claims for breach of contract and liquidated damages in no time at all.
Problems happen, its how a company deals with these problems that proves if they are a bunch of cowboys.
RFT - Right First Time. QA - Quality Assurance.
Every time i hear or see these at work for some reason CCP is always the firs thing that enters my mind. |

*shakes head*
Not true. Either it's a bug or a promise that was broken.
All my lev1's and all my lev2 agents were with Quafe. My FIRST lev3 referral was to a Astral Mining corp agent. I had run 50+ missions for him, but my standing with his corp was only 3-something. After Castor, I have 4.70 standing with that same lev3 agent, but because my Astral Mining standing was dropped to 1.5-something, he's no longer available to me......

not sure how much you know about program coding... but looked at a statistical standpoint (assuming your problem is indeed a problem with the game) 1 problem in 1 million is a very low error rate. Personally I give kudos to CCP for their efforts... I think how much work they really do is lost on most players. Coding is not easy, not fun, and takes a tremendous amount of time... working out bugs is even worse. Its too bad that you are having these problems... my suggestion would be to completely uninstall the game, reboot, and reinstall the game. In the world of computers many times this action fixed most problems. Good luck.

I understand that problems do happen, my whinge was more about the lack of communication. Having 24 hours go by with no feedback to even let you know they are aware of the problem gets frustrating.
History now, problem is fixed. |

Trying to satisfy the enormous collection of people shouting very loudly that it was utterly unacceptable to have to wait this long for the next big patch, maybe.

Yeah fine but ANYONE who has played for a while would realise a release this big will be buggy and the week b4 everyone takes time off is not a good time to release as most of your staff will be looking forward to the hols
Personally I'd of gone with this release in 2 weeks (I prefer to play a working game over my leave) besides we've waited for so long whats another fortnight?
