I'm having trouble deciding what rigs I should fit my Hyperion with Setup 8x 350mm proto
1x AB II 4x Cap rechargers II
LAR II 4x N-Type Hardners
I already got 1 cap recharging rig. What else could I use? Thinking about armor repairing boost rig and hybrid tracking rig. Any suggestions?

PvE or PvP?
Armor resist / boost is always good, as is cap. Might wanna jam another rep on that ship to take advantage of the ship bonus so maybe a pg rig and 2 cccs?

one armor rep rig is a good idea to even more boost your bonus..
i wouldnt go for tracking mod though, rather explosive rig or armor cap amount rig..
U would sometimes have to switch for NOSes..

Use 3 Auxiliary Nano Pump (rep amount) rigs. With BS 5 II rep 1672.9625 HP/cycle with a single LAR II, which as I'm sure you know is the equivalent to more than 2 LAR IIs.
I have no problem with any level 4 mission with the following setup:
Highs: 8 x 350mm Railgun II
Mids: 100MN Afterburner II, 3 x Cap Recharger II, Shadow Serpentis Tracking Computer
Lows: Large Armour Repairer II, 2 x Shadow Serpentis Magnetic Field Stabilisers, 3 x T2 rat specific hardeners. Swap magstabs for hardeners as the situation demands.
3 x Auxiliary Nano Pump rigs.
Lock, pew pew, win.
Enjoy. ---------------

I agree with triple rep rigs for missions, the amount you can get off a single faction rep + ship bonus/rigs is awesome and opens up another lowslot for whatever (since you don't have to run dual-rep).

Did you really just suggest using 3 rigs to replace 1 low???

It'd also save you a lot of cap since you're only running half the mods, but still getting more than the effect of two.

Edited by: Ma''ax on 10/03/2007 06:19:07 Ok -- I see the cap savings -- that's probably worth a second slot. It still doesn't make sense to use three rigs to replace 2 slots unless you are getting an advantage you absolutely need. There's a point at which rep/sec is overkill. to the OP I would say for your first rig replace a slot you will use in any configuration -- probably cap -- and use that freed up slot for a damage mod or whatever. Me -- I used my first rig to get enough cap to perma-tank a large T-2 repper and it made all the difference.

Ultimately the purpose of triple pumps is to play to the Hyperion's strength, that is, a very powerful repair cycle, the 1 low is just a bonus.

If you drop the tracking computer in favour of a 4th cap recharger II, you don't need a cap rig to sustain the LAR II indefinitely.
Personally I have decent enough skills to keep the tracking computer and still tank efficiently enough with guns running to not ever cap out mid mission.
/me shrugs. Depends on your skills, I suppose, but imho 3 rep rigs is the way to go. Especially with a faction repper. ---------------

"IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO POST IN AN EXISTING THREAD THAN TO START A NEW ONE!!"
Since that be the case, is it a good idea to plug-in an Ancillary Current router (10% power grid) into mine? Since I am planning to use 350MM-425MM Railgun combo's. .......................................... Quafe is good for you, mkay? |

lol did you just ask a fellow corpmate if he's going to use a rail hyperion with cap rechargers in the mids and a crappy tank in pvp or pve? sorry but it made me chuckle
and to actually be constructive. if u can run the rep permanently then i'd say try for a pg rig and see if u can squeezy 425's on there. if u can't go for another cap rig so u can relax while doing it. also the dps is rather low on that so maybe even a dmg rig but might need a pg rig to use the dmg rig.

Edited by: Hait on 11/05/2007 16:28:47 I need that current router too, for a rack of 425's with 2 magstabs. Chucked a couple of cap controls in the remaining slots.

Since you dont have any tackling gear and you're using rails I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's a PvE ship.
The best rigs for PvE are Capacitor Control Circuits. If you can permarun 2x LAR with the Hyperion's bonus you'll have nothing to fear. You could experiment with just one CCC and 4x Cap Recharger II's to see if the 2x LAR's will permarun. If they don't, put another CCC on it, and if it does after 2x CCC, I'd shove a Auxiliary Nano Pump in the last rig slot - you will be indestructible for L4's.
Keep some Warrior II's on you to pop the scrambling rats, though.

1. rep rigs are stacking penalised
2. with bs lvl iv + mega bonus, the mega has the equivelant of 2 tracking comps pre fitted (tho it does use 450s) thats saving you two slots, or like having 6 mids, which ever way you want to look at it.
The only thing ive see the hyp do better than the mega is pos killing thanks to its huge hp.
Now plz don't miss interpret this, my point is if all your going to do is fit some rep rigs and tracking comps you would be better with the mega.
