but relating to CAOD.
The no alt-posting rule for this forum was a great idea, but didn't last long at all. Now everyone simply puts their alts in a dummy corp (creatable in moments) and spams away.
Perhaps this forum should be restricted to chars in a corp/alliance above a certain size. Yes, you can still plant all the alts you want in Privateers and go back to spamming away, but I think it'll cut down on it again. Particularly since now everyone who speaks will be anteing up their participation in an actual corporation of at least some size by doing so.
If anyone else has good ideas for removing alt trolls, I'm all for it. This is just the best that came to mind. I think this forum is direly soiled by this problem right now. If you want to comment on current affairs, then take responsibility for it.

This is an Alliance forum.
Requiring alliance membership to post would seem resonable. If someone is going to pay the price of an Alliance for his alt, he has earned the right to flame away...

Corporation, Alliance and Organization Discussions
There are many corporations that, while not in alliances, have a contribution to all the latest going-ons.

And do you really expect the mods to go ingame and check the size on each corp of everyone that posts?

A decent idea, but as long as people have opinions or the unstoppable, insatiable urge to smack, they will work out ways to beat the system.
If you limit posting by corp size, you'll just get all these "alts" banding together in corps to meet that requirement.

If you take away people's daily doses of the 0utbreak / Hobo sigs, things would get... ugly...

then people who aren't allowed to post in their alliance would just put all their alts in one corp till it met teh requirements to post here, instead of jsut a bunch of 1 man alt corps
it'd be a never ending cycle tbh __________________________

Change the name.
TBH, nothing but alliance stuff is discussed here anyways.
And I guess the main problem here is EXECTLY all those corporation only chars who THINK they have something to add that mess up this forum a lot of the time.

The answers are simple, either don't read what people say or be the bigger man and not respond.
People pay to play the game and have the right to use the forums just as much as everyone else, unless CCP are going to charge less for not been allowed acces it should not be restricted.
If you don't like what you read then don't read it or don't let it bother you.
Simple realy.

Well..while it is predominantly an alliance-related forum, there's been plenty of interesting discussion about various PvP corps who are not members of alliances (Outbreak and Celestial Apocalypse, just to name a couple).

Get rid of the restrictions alltogether. People will always find a way around the issue anyway. And besides, maybe people in "real" small corps want to discuss things to, as is their right.
The only thing the alt restrictions do at this point is add more work to the mods for no real gain.

Actually my goal has nothing to do with limiting small groups from discussing things of relevance to them. If a 20 man corp wants to shout to the world that they downed a carrier, I'm perfectly happy to see them do it.
No, I'm just in favor of people actually being accountable for their own words and actions. What slimes all over the forum are all the cowards who want to speak but hide their identity while doing so. One thing the net is very good at demonstrating, is that the less acountable people are for their actions, the more loathesome they become. So my point is simple, let's make folks more accountable.
