Ok, a bit of background first... I'm a Gallente working in Caldari space and just started running missions for a Biotech corp.
Second mission offered: Supply 500 units of food to Caldari Provisions Platation.
If completed within 30 minutes you will get a bonus reward of 55 units of viral agents.
Is it just me or does this sound odd?

Yeah, its odd.
Starting to think agents give bonus rewards that are really just meant to clear out part of their warehouse - spring cleaning.
"Who can I dump this crud on?"
"Hey, I'm looking for work, can you help me?"
"Uh, uh ... yes! Deliver these pamphlets within twenty minutes and I'll uh, give you several hundred units of Tobacco as a ... 'reward'!"
"Uh ... okaaayyyy ... "

You can sell it to NPC corps that buys them. go to World of EVE and look at each of the corp discription. It will less what each corp buys and sells. All you need to do is hual those to the right corp and sell them.

I have the same thing. Thanks to my agent I have enough water to hydrate a planet and enough reports to litter said planet with flyers. Warning, may cause blurred vision, premature balding, and nervous twitching. Use as directed. |

I received a bonus of 800 units of carbon. I just keep it, it must be useful for something. Probably CCP only knows what for

Personally i think they're trying to make the market more player controlled by giving us the crap we normally carry around on agent missions to sell, catch 22 for CCP is most of us are probably gonna sell it straight back to npc's who in turn are gonna give it back to us.

The time bonus rewards are sometimes commodities which are supplied by the corporation you are doing the mission for. These items are taken from a list which has nothing to do with the mission system, but rather the commodity system.
If you recieve viral agents as a time bonus, then that's because the corporation you were doing the mission for supplies viral agents. I don't see anything odd with that myself ...
The wierdest thing with the courier missions though from my personal perspective is that the shipment is often something that doesn't relate to the corporation type which is shipping it. This is a relic of the old mission system, and hasn't been "fixed" yet. It's a cosmetic thing really, so the "fix" has taken a backseat to the more important issues out there.

Zrakor, I just found it odd that a Caldari corp (listed as a member corp for the Caldari State) would give a Gallente viral agents. There's supposedly a long history of bad blood between them after all... And since when do food plantations normally import food?
It's not so much the mission as the combination of factors involved that made it a strange one for me.
