ccp is not quite sure where eve should head, that's true. they introduced missions, but ccp thinks too many of them run missions and because of this stay in empire. eve devs do want people to go out and kill/die as they have stated many times. so they finally move the high end mission stuff to low sec and 0.0. i think that adds more to pvp as it takes away. first, more targets and maybe some pve'ers that actually try pvp and have a blast. how often do you see "zomg i'm not interested in pvp" in npc corps and they haven't even tried and assume because it sucks in other games it sucks here too. i think ccp is trying to fix pve to be more pvp oriented and populate low-sec/0.0 more by doing so.
i agree, kali alienated pvp, totally.
ceptors are worthless now except for tackling. no more ceptor wolfpacks as their dps is too shabby to dismantle a small gang or even a supertanked drake in a reasonable amount of time.
t2 ammo is utter bullcrap! look at Quake L ammo. THREE penalties on it! way to go, waste 2 months on t2 large guns.
rigs! wtf. nerf rigs to hell and back. then nerf them again. maybe then they're balanced. 3x propulsion injection, 3x shield regen... they stack insanely. drakes tanking more than an XL shield boost with no cap use at all. they are not ship customizations, they are pwnmobile generators.
want to fly a disposable setup for a change? no, you don't. you get pulverized the moment you encounter a rigged setup. 3 rig slots on t1 ships with insane bonuses per tech1 rig? so you need them too. hmm, that adds another 40-60m to your expenses (yes, even if you salvage yourself it's that much :p).
and yes, there is the issue with loggin in and out and all the bugs that have become undocumented features. can you fix drones so they use their mwds when you command them to return? at least combat drones do it...
and the lag!
i would really like to see ccp do emergency fixes. the sheer amount of threads about it is nuts. --

if the game catered for only one type of play it would probably die a horrible death. it has to allow for multiple play styles and it does so pretty well.
what would it be like if all you had to do from day one was pvp? people need a way to make isk other than loot ships, otherwise there would be no loot in the first place.
i've played quite a lot of styles in this game, a healthy mix of pvp and pve over the years and enjoy both aspects.
rigs? yeh lets make them npc seeded items for 500k, then everyone can have as many as they want lol
i agree on nano ships and wtz, but the latter we are gonna have to live with, no way they will change it back. even without wtz how many ppl had 15k + or more bm's stashed away, effectively making it wtz. if bookmarks hadnt been possible at gates/stations in the first place that would have been ideal. a better fix would have been to remove all bm's at gates/stations and let everyone get on with.
anyway i digress, this game has to cater for multiple play styles and not just yours.

I guess mission runners are harassing pvp'ers all the time, duh them. Noddy. How can they do such a thing. =)

I think it s only about to focus on the original role that any ship ingame had.
When a BS fly faster than an interceptor something going really wrong; and it s not just because everyone can fit a BSceptor too that would solve the problem.
Beside even the newcomers (those are the noobs )reading thru the stats of every modules and kind of ship would reasonably think that the smaller ship would be faster, what a surprise when they see BS next to them passing at over 8k m/s . the point is..unbalancing the mechanics of the game that much can really create a big mess in the newcomers (still the noobs) minds, leaving them to the starting point which would be "leave the in game guides and tips and read the last release of exploits, enhancing your ship after Kali section, the nerf of tomorrow bible and so on"

I don't think WoW in space is what we're going to see, not yet. But its closer than you might think. Look at gameplay style, nowadays it seems like its more about your fitting than it is about your tactics and/or skills. Nanobs is a great example.
Eve needs to remain a game about internet spaceships, its starting to feel like something else.
And yeah, I agree, CCP does need to balance out problems. "EVE is the worst MMORPG. Except for all the other ones."

"Walking in stations? Great, so after a target warps to zero to a station and instantly docks it can enjoy himself in the station. No incentive to undock, or what?"
Yes. God forbid that people actually have the option to enjoy themselves in this game rather than being your personal target.

Maybe it is time for CCP to tell us what their data mining shows.
60-70% EVE players are PVE and mission runners in high sec??
That's my guess. If that is even closely correct then i can see why they are adding content to satisfy the money base players.

Cool, because:
Blackbird + Sensor Booster II x 4 = ~1000 scan resolution Stiletto + Sensor Booster II x 2 = ~2800 scan resolution
So, if my Stiletto has better locking speed than your Blackbird, and I cannot tackle a well fitted istab+nano battlecruiser/battleship anymore.. how can you?
Yeah that's right.
Re-read his post again, you missed an important word in it.

There's still a stacking penalty on remote sensor boosters. There's still 1-2 second lag in locking all targets. The short time it takes for your client to hear about him from the server and draw him on the overview, and the time it takes to actually finalise a lock (it blinks LOCKED and then warps - usually due to lag?)..
So you could have 10000 scan resolution and still not catch some of these nano'd up ships. I am not talking about Interceptors for those of you too lazy to read the thread.
