Bastage has been in what some might call a bottomless pit of horrible luck lately. We haven't been losing ships at the usual astounding rate but our evenings tend to follow a certain pattern. It is our belief at this point, that the mercenary corporation 'GMs' has it out for us.
Currently our evenings can be summed up like this:
1:
Comms: Shuttle on scan.
Comms: Rifter on scan.
Comms: Velator on scan.
<45 minute lull>
Comms: Shuttle on scan.
<22 minutes of listening to me discuss the virtue of smartbomb fleets>
Comms: Nano/Instab/Hardwired Vagabond on scan.
<15 minutes of complaining about instab.>
<47 minutes of debating how to kill Phoenus.>
Comms: Shuttle on scan.
<12 minutes of mind-numbing boredom>
Crna: SHENANIGANS!
<1.3 minutes of giggling>
Comms: Break Break! Hauler on scan! Badger MK2.
Comms (All): Going to the gate! YAY!
Boom.
Comms: What did it have? 1 unamed Nanofiber.
<37 minutes of dejected sighs>
Comms: Absolution, Hyperion, Domi, 3x Megathrons, Nighthawk, 3 Ravens, 7 Scorpions, 18 random cruisers, drake, vagabond, prophecy, couple inties and a Frieghter on scan.
Comms: Oh, and an omen named 'I cyno'd you' plus an 7 Anathemas ****ing out probes.
Comms All: Docking.
Comms Scout: Freighter is on the gate... slowly aligning - they should be clear in about 10 minutes.
Comms Scout: Badger MK2 on scan.
Comms Scout: Badger Jumped, Two Bestowers on scan.
Comms: Are they with the fleet escort?
Comms Scout: Nah, diff corp - they're well behind the group.
Comms Scout: Full fleet is now on the gate and chatting to us in local about how cool our posts are, no attempt to warp.
Comms Scout: Bestowers jumped, Another Iteron MK V on scan coming through.
Comms Scout: Itty Jumped, An Occator and Mammoth just went through too.
Comms Scout: Oh... the fleet warped off finally.
Comms All: UNDOCKING! Gogogogo!
Comms Scout: Nothing on scan.

You rant on about the viability of a smartbomb fleet as well?
I've got it figured out.
Everyone uses the same damagetype (lets say kinetic). We all stick kinetic hardeners for shields, armor, and a damage control.
Assuming Average resists, 20 battleships would do an omnidirection 29k damage instantanous.
With a dictor pilot and a covops, it would be amazing!
Everyone just called me crazy on that one... At least i'm not alone.

Wouldn't it be so much more fun to use shield-tanked Amarr AFs/HACs and explosive-type smartbombs instead ?
