I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this before but here goes....
What if we had arenas/colliseums , yes like old day Rome.
You want to 1v1 some one you go there...you want to 2v2 ...etc.
Catch is once the ship/ships are in you can only leave once an opponent/s have been destroyed. There can be a system of setting it up that both parties agree on ie. number of ships per side, certain mods used not used , ship size , podding or not, hell even isk wagered. Neat thing would be that everyone in eve could bet on the fights aswell... and no more 1v1's dishonored. Also once inside the "arena" it acts like a bubble so no warping out or logging and it would act like 0.0, so no sec loss.Not sure how hard it would be from a development stand point but it would have to be made so that there could be no outside interference aswell.
I also though that from an RP perspective that the arenas would prolly be only in Minmatar/Amarr space due to their backgrounds and history. Amarr would use them like the ancient Romans using slaves to fight for entertainment or their "freedom". Minmatar could use them for a right of passage, or succession among tribes, or simply glory and honor. (for those familiar with Dragonlance it could be like the minataur race)
These ideas are just off the top of my head (bored at work) so I now leave this with my fellow pod pilots to either completely shoot me down or improve upon .

I saw a mention of this concept before, probably more than a year ago. I liked it then and I still like it now, but I think we'd best leave CCP to fixing what they've already made rather than taking on a complex project such as this (I think it would be complex, anyway, not that I'm a professional programmer though).

also would like to add that to keep it in a C&P atmosphere it would be like paying for killrights on someone. They would just have to agree to it.
Another thing is that it would cost isk to enter prolly based on ship size to be paid by the individual pilot. The isk would go into some kind of game sink, like the station fees I pay to NPC corps.

yea Jex I'm no computer guru either so I've no idea how hard it would be....
if they say it can't be done......ahwell no harm

Caldari love people dieing...almost as much as they love betting on it. Caldari space should have one...in fact everyone but Gallente as they would see it as a travesty of one form or another.

Any form of consentual pvp in eve is bad in my eyes. If this gets implemented i can already see the posts in a year or so...

Hmm... reminds me of the battlegrounds in WoW... which were really horrible. Might be a fun thing to go into from time to time, but I could see a bunch of point whoring pilots spend all their time in these things rather than go and PVP for real, which would make me cry.
