Doing some rudimentary math here based off the eve mechanics.
My Badger II, complemented by expanded cargo holds, can hold 9600 m3. That translates into 9.6km3. That means, essentially, that a 3km x 3km x 1km piece of planet could be picked up into a badger II.
My Thorax is 112 km3. Spliced into three dimensions, I reached the conclusion that my rax is approximately 9km x 4km x 3km. 9km long! AHHHHHH!
Based off the placeholder values for the Titans (500,000 m3 cargo) it's the equivalent of a ship landing on earth, picking up a 25km x 20km city, and shoving it into its hold. The titan itself is even bigger.
A battleship is essentially a city in flight. 1400mm cannons spit out projectiles 1.4m in diameter, probably longer in length as well. A good equivalent is a car. Imagine one city spitting out cars at the other, and whenever a car hit whole city blocks would disappear.
This game is HUGE. -----------------------------------------------

Back to school! 9600m3 is NOT 9.3km3
It could be 9.3 cubic decameter (dcm3?) But it should be 9,3 * 10^-6 km3 or 0,0000093 km3. --- soonÖ |

Aye, 1km3 = 1.000.000.000m3

9600m¦ would be rather: 100m * 10m * 9.6m. --------------------------------------

...and to contrast 9,600m3 with the real world, a Lockheed C5 Galaxy has a cargo hold of 877m3, and an ocean going supertanker can carry something in the region of 40,000m3.

but what about a titan with 8 27.1% expanders? :| that's more then 200% more cargo and it already had 50.000m3 cargo space..

guess how slow the titan is though? sure you can carry youre entire planet and people with you at a measly 15m/s? 8 ab's to get 18m/s!!

Exactly, 9600m3 is 9600m3*0,001^3 = 0,0000093 km3. (0,001km=1m)

Edited by: Ana Khouri on 19/12/2003 13:40:44 He's right in one aspect, though, the ships are quite big, more often than not too big for their design.
This becomes quite clear when you look at the *slang for male reproductive organ*pit windows of various ships (which make absolutly no sense, btw, since the pilot in in a pod and gets optical info from his camera drones). The one of the megathron, for example, is a big as a multistory building.

9600m3x2,000cu2 ^ 340,000m3cu2x3 (1400x1200)/(250x650,000,000) ^^* 250kmx2 = DORKS!!!
All ships in-game ships explode the same, some just cost more.

No one in my corp raised an objection to it :) I guess the ships are a wee bit smaller then I thought. oh well. -----------------------------------------------
