Why do people start selling CNRS for 900 mill instead of +1bil? You cant say me that there is no demand so you have to lower the price arround 2-300 milions. I regulary sell my CNRS between 1,1 and 1,4 bil. Why this sudden change? I think people are just scared to death by the mission changes that theyre cnrs will lose worth, so they try to sell them now to safe theyre investement.. but what they do not realize is that actually those people selling right now way to cheap, are the cause for the devaluation of this ship. any thoughts on this? Ahh one other thing.. i fail to see, when it comes to bigger number, why people start to undercut by way bigger amounts than they would while selling a 200k module. but why not undercut by 1 mil instead of 20 or 50 or 100 mil?

You are trying to make a business of selling them. Most others sell them as 'found money'. Since you'll never compete with such individuals on price, and I doubt you can buy them all out without further killing your margin perhaps it's time to compete with them on a different footing. Or just be less greedy. I recommend the former

Edited by: d026 on 11/03/2007 15:27:55 Even if they see it as found money. Isn't it more pleasing to sell them for 1,1 billions rather than 900 billions? Earning 200 millions does take quite some while (if you are not a reseller/multiple t2 bpo owner).

Quick ISK? Look on Contracts in Jita, there are loads of CNRs. Yesterday, there were at least three CNRs at 900M... so selling for 1.1b could take some time and time is money.

2 theories off the top of my head:
People have gotten used to the mission changes that were introduced with Revelations and know which strategy to use for speedy mission completion. This allows them to rack up LP faster and get more CNR offers.
+5 implants are getting cheaper for various reasons. This means it's not as lucrative as it used to be to exchange your LP for implants. Faction battleships provide better isk/LP ratio.

So you are saying that it's easy to buy a CNR for 900 mil and turn around and resell it for 1.1-1.4bil? Why on earth would you come to the forums and give away such an excellent money-making opportunity?
Or could it be that the market is starting to come down and you wish it wasn't? Time will tell I suppose.
The lesson here: you don't get to control the decisions that other people make with their assets/ISK and complaining that they are doing it differently from you won't accomplish anything.

yeah exactly.. but anyway and i try to figure out whats the reason that people sell an item so much below a price if it also would sell for much more. this is just completely stupid and irrational -.-

Perhaps the price of 1.1-1.4b was more then the market would bear. IE they sat on contract for 3 weeks, so the owners decided to reduce the price in hopes of actually getting a sale.

Who sells CNR? People that run missions in CNR.
Who buys CNR? People that will run missions to farm CNR.
How often are CNR destroyed? At a much slower rate then they are farmed.
When will the price stop falling? When it reaches a point where there are better alternatives to spend your 500K+ LP points. See the prices other empire faction are selling. So even at these lower prices people accept the offer.
When will this happen? Not even God knows.

If everything you're thinking is true, then yes it is stupid and irrational. Unfortunately your assumptions are wrong. Obviously if people are selling them for 900 mill like crazy then that is truly the price the market will pay. You are obviously here complaining that no one is buying your CNR's for 1.1-1.4 billion, thus if someone tried to sell theirs for that price it wouldn't sell... so they lower their price until it sells. Obviously 900 mill is that price now.
This is the risk of trading... items change value suddenly and can leave you with less valuable items. If you can't handle the way the market works, get out. If you can't handle irrational trader behavior, get out. People trade the way they want... and if 900 mill is a price they feel a CNR is worth then that is the price they will charge. Your personal views on value mean nothing if the market doesn't support them... and it is clear it no longer does.

So, what do you think LPs are worth these days for empire agents ? A "decent" CNR offer is if I'm not mistaking 500k LP and 200 mil ISK. Selling a CNR for 900 mil means you're making 1400 ISK per LP.
An improved implant is really not worth anything anymore, you're just wasting LP with them... no idea where they get farmed, but they're certainly big LP losers. A standard implant is 60k LP and some goods, sells for under 50 mil. That's probably not even 800 ISK per LP, and that's even decent. A basic implant is 15k LP, sells for 13-16 mil. Let's say 1000 ISK per LP.
The only offers "really worth taking" are the connections skillbooks... for 15k LP and 10 mil ISK, and you can sell them for 60-80 mil ISK, so you convert at 3k ISK per LP. But those offers are not that frequent, and you must hover around a lot taking many implant offers to come back close to the 15k-30k total LP figure where you can even receive the offer in the first place.
So all in all, even a 800 mil pricetag on a CNR would still not be a low price to expect. Add to that the fact a CNR still only tanks about as good as a standard Raven, and you need at least half a bil ISK more alone for the booster needed to get into the tanking range of a 300-mil full-fit Drake (and don't even think about coming close to a NH's tank), then you can see why CNRs are no longer desirable.
I fully expect them to drop in price even below 700 mil in the not so distant future. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

Good post... one that illustrates exactly why the market is behaving as it is. The CNR is a very good LP to ISK ratio offer these days, thus a lot of people work for it. Thus it's price is dropping as more people accept it. I also fully agree about the usefulness of the CNR now that the nighthawk is "fixed". The nighthawk is a much more inexpensive level 4 ship and much safer as well, meaning the more people who fly nighthawks the less people who lose CNR's and need to rebuy them.

The prices have droped because ppl panic after the anounced changes to missions. More ppl selling - less ppl buying.
In the newest mission blog they pretty much state that the current level IV missions difficulty will stay as it is and I guess that means that the prices will stabilise around 900-1b isk again. Right now you can hardly sell a cnr for 800m. I guess it the same effect that panic have on the stock marked but unfortunately the CNR marked dont have rules that stop ppl from selling/buying CNRs untill ppl calm down!

B4 the big missile nerf, CNR used to sell at 2.5b+ With the nerf, they dropped like a rock. It all comes down to suply and demand. Back then it was a reduction in demand. Who knows what it is this time, but one thing is for sure, u need to adapt to the market, otherwise you can lose a lot of isk.
