MrBadIdea, corp "The Children of Lilith" [COFL] 9 member corp, he's the Commander in Chief
Recently, a gang I was in got a sweet kill on a vindicator with faction mods.
We took the swag to Agil to sell, and our player in charge of selling created a contract with MrBadIdea for the exchange of two 28.315% resist armor mods (300 million ISK each) for a Raven Navy Issue. Something went wrong with the contract creation (new user to a clumsy system), and the raven wasn't required on his end.
Via PC with our seller, he shouted "score" as he took the items and put the seller on block. Bounties just don't do justice, and despite being politely asked to follow through with his end of the deal, he has refused to honor the verbal agreement.
At this point, we are no longer looking for financial recovery from him (or anyone). Life sucks. It would just be appreciated if anyone willing makes HIS life suck too.

You can of course aid that process. You could hire someone to gank him. You could gank him. You could hire some mercs to war dec them or you could do so.
With enough incentive (ISK) I am sure you could get your revenge.
And presumably the guy in the Vindicator is thikning the same of you .

Guy in Vindicator came into our system looking for trouble ;).
And war is being considered in retrubtion as well, or hiring, but tracking down one guy can be a pain. But perhaps there are people near him who see him often who either enjoy ganking or find comfort in ganking people of his moral caliber. Either way, they may be interested in helping the cause.

Some how it doesn't surprise that Glaux would mess up on a simple task as contracting mods..

Sorry to disappoint you Zen, but I was the only Glaux involved. It was a member of one of the corps based in Irmalin that pulled this off. I got the kill helping them defend Irmalin.
Can't say I wouldn't make the same mistake though. I'm not exactly a master contractor.

So, your seller makes a big error on the contract creation but the buyer is the scammer because he accepted a contract YOUR CORP messed up? You could as well say that your seller scammed YOUR CORP instead of the buyer who got a very, very lucrative deal.
As far as I can see, the buyer didn't explain how the contract should have been put up such that he could scam it, so to me he's not scamming.

Exactly, sure the "nice" thing to have done would be to correct YOUR corps mistake, but hey pirates dont gotta be nice. But defnitely wasnt a scam

Let me guess, he camps out in low sec near the sentrys or in High sec where you cant do anything right?
The most you can probably do is wardec them so you can camp them in empire or basically prevent them from doing anything. You can refuse to remove the wardec unless they return the items.
Alternativly this will force them to disband their corp, to the solo player this realy means nothing but assuming the 9 people arent all alts this will prevent them from building anything together (you must be in a corp to launch a POS). Yes they can disband and just form a new corporation however this IS CONSIDERED an exploit, CCP does not allow disbanding and then just reforming a corp again to skirt wardec's. The system will allow it but if you report them ccp will step in and put a stop to it. You can easily tell just by checking the corp status of each member that was orrigionally in the corp every now and again and if you suspect they reformed just report them with a list of names and what happened . ------------------------------- C.D's Formula for success ------------------------------- Credit Card = Game Time Card Gametime Card = ISK Therefore Credit Card = ISK.

From what it looks like this "scam" could have been pulled off without the "scammer" saying a word. I guess it's easy to scam if you just have to wait for the other guy to make a stupid mistake........and really......really stupid mistake. :)

True, true. IMHO we got hosed. And while many players in EVE don't care one way or the other, some may. If he doesn't get hit by anyone ever, so be it.
And Zensige, you're just sounding foolish. The players involved in an actual war decision are from the corps you were allied with during the war with us. No, Glaux won't be wardeccing this guy, we don't have the players interested in crossing the galaxy in pursuit of one man, regardless how low a moral fiber he has. There are plenty of low-moral players nearby. This is a personal deal, nothing corporate.

Why did you put a 10mil bounty on him? Bounties are useless, its just a way for him to collect more isk. It doesn't sound like an exploit, it sounds like your friend doesn't know how to use the contract system. By the way... why would you make a deal with a -3.0 sec status pirate?

Didn't you say that you got the loot from a Vindicator kill...
It's not like you bought them, so you haven't lost anything really
The only person who lost out was the Vindi pilot..and he has probably already put a bounty on you
You should just be content that you took down a Vindicator, that doesnt happen very often

On another note, the people that have been setting POSes up around where I'm living keep finding them mysteriously going missing.

I will say this to every person with BS complaints like this:
It was YOUR fault.
(Notice the emphasis?)
If someone was contracting stuff to me and forgot to require me to pay, of course i'll take it, sounds like a great deal to me.
If your rent office screwed up the contract so your rent was free, would you run down to the office with the contract:
You: OMG! You almost gave me free rents!!! It would be dishonorable for me to take it! Rent Office: Oh, sorry about that! Let me go back to sodomizing you with a rusty iron spike. You: LOLZ!!! THANX!!!!!1!!1!2? - "The childrens are so much crunchier if you suck all the meat off the outside first!" -Crinos, The Chosen of Chaos |
