I am experiencing massive connection drops when playing. Up to a constant 1000ms. This makes using TS and even plaing almost impossible.
So I have an awful connection and cant have the game load while playing. It would literally take me hours to jump once. I downloaded the asset file you have to add to you launcher in order to minimize the loading time.
However Im suspecting that, after the update I have to download that file again. Which would be a massive 9 hour download for me. As I'm sure you can imagine that is not something I want to do.
Are there any known solutions? I have tried to run the "updater" file, shipped with the asset zip but that does not seem to do anything.
Thanks In advance. |

I've had this issue too, once docked in a station the Display Driver dies ... only way i've found to get around this is to change the launcher settings to running the client in DX9 |

Contract queries via the XML API now sometimes show citadels as start or end locations of courier contracts.
At the moment I'm displaying "??? citadel ???" instead of the station name. Is there yet a method of querying the name/location of a ctiadel from the API?

Since the release and only while Eve is running, any application I open that produces audio (youtube, VLC, music app) - no longer produces any sound.
If I log out of Eve, they work again - immediately.
If an audio-producing function was active at logon, it continues to function properly even after pausing - but no new instances will produce audio while Eve is running.
The Volume Mixer shows that the applications are ostensibly producing sound

I've got the same audio issue with Win7 and ASUS Xonar soundcard (C-Media CMI8788 chipset). No system sounds when EVE client is running. Disabling sounds in EVE client's properties turns system sounds on. Same thing was about a month ago when I launched EVE on Singularity.
Disabling other playback devices doesn't help. Switching exclusive control of sound device doesn't help. Clearing EVE cache doesn't help. Reinstalling EVE client doesn't help. Updating audio drivers doesn't help.
Waiting for CCP to fix that asap.
P.S. I have already sent a bug report via support tickets and still got no reply. Wondering for what I have payed money? |

Has anybody tried to actually set a citadel as a destination location? I have a Fortizar as a saved location, and when I set it as a destination then instead of the citadel I get the system as the destination. The only way I can get the citadel to be the actual destination is if I have it on grid and then right-click on it to set destination; even having it on grid and right clicking it in my saved locations does not work.

Hey Stanley Ray and Steluna de Chasteux!
You can read this a little further back in this very thread, but manually disabling all other sound devices through the Sound menu in the Windows Control Panel (leaving the discrete card selected as the default device) should provide a temporary workaround until we can patch with a better solution in client.
The audio team is on this, and we're trying to make sure we don't break anything else when we put out a fix.

This doesn't help as i wrote in my post before. I wish the problem to be fixed soon and I'm looking forward the gametime compensation beginning from the patch 118.7 release until the bug is fixed.

CCP Falcon wrote: improvements to graphics performance in areas that have clouds Is this one of those cheeky comments that are made with intentional irony? Because literally the opposite happened with this patch.
My system normally runs EvE at full settings and I get a full 40-60 FPS at all times. Until this patch hit. Now, I still get those framerates until I get into any areas with clouds. My FPS drops to single digits. I had to mess with graphics settings during a mission to make the game playable again - the only setting that made any sort of impact was switching the shader quality down to "low". Then I got my FPS back to the 60 range. After the mission, including warp, jumping to other systems, docking (no docking animation FYI), all else with a HIGH shader quality while maintaining a high FPS. So it's just the areas with cloudy stuff and other misc. floating space junk that normally colors the landscape around missions. But clouds are the worst offender that I've noticed so far.
Let's discuss overhauling the way we get intel in EvE.

Workarounds: low shader or effects off, both remove the environmental clouds.

Since this patch my clients have been locking up randomly, I get a white window on one or the other, or both, I then can not shut them except with the task manager. This happens about three or four times a day now. I am on a new desktop with windows 10 running. Things were going well until this. It is a bit frustrating in combat situations to say the least. |

You need to do something about the new cloud rendering. While it looks nice and has fixed some issues (for instance in the Forsaken Rally Points, the cloud does not flicker any longer), it causes unbearable frame rate drops in other areas like the Independence (both rooms with their huge red clouds) or the L4 mission "Desperate Maneuvers". I admit that my AMD HD 5770 is not the most powerful gfx card any more, but it can't be that the Independence kills my frame rate to 1-2 FPS just by entering that plex, or the mentioned mission causes a frame rate drop from 40 FPS down to 11. In both situations, the game becomes unplayable and only dropping the Shader Quality level down to low (essentially removing the clouds completely) improves the situation, but it can't be that I have to meddle with shader settings ever time I fly into a certain mission or complex. Furthermore, I do not experience frame rate drops in the Forsaken Rally Point anomaly, which obviously still has a gas cloud, so it is possible to have the shaders at medium, see the clouds and not suffer from extreme frame rate drops.

The new clouds usually perform better, but certain mission and deadspace sites have authoring issues that cause frame rate drops, so please bug report them as you see them. I'll point your message out to the devs who are keeping an eye on this so we can arrange to take a look at those specific sites you mention.
Also, to people here who are reporting general cloud performance issues: If you are having this problem, please bug report that from within client so we can see a snapshot of your hardware and software configuration.

A week has passed and CCP did nothing. And here what I have figured out for the week:
"No system's sound" problem with ASUS Xonar DGX soundcard and Windows 7.
Solution A: Disable discrete sound card and use integrated Realtek, etc. Solution B: Use Windows 10 and discrete sound card.
"Video driver crash and EVE client crash" problem with ATI HD 7850 and Windows 10.
Solution: Run client with "DirectX9" flag and "Download everything" flag in settings. |

So, with the audio bug we do not have a reliable repro yet inhouse.
We have an Asus card that is reliable giving us a repro in one machine only, win7 64, asus card with onboard realtek audio device. Trying to repro this on a win7 32, asus card and onboard realtek did work.
I'd really appreciate that to get the complete machine specs on all the computers that are having the problem to try to narrow it down and get a reliable test scenario.
You can enable/disable any playback device and get you your audio back on all programs.. |

A workaround in the meantime for those having sound issues. If you have onboard sound builtin to the computer, then just disable your Asus sound card and make sure your onboard sound is working. (don't forget to plug your speakers into the onboard sound jack!)
I tend to look on the brighter side here - it's an excuse to update my several years old sound card. The onboard sound works for now though. |
