I am also not sure if you can put things like abusing and exploiting of bugs into the same hole with dev intervention and bpo spawning. Not sure about it tho
I would like to say, that you cannot lump in a dev BPo spawning with the total exploitation of spawn timerson complexes like RA have done. The isk input from the complex is probably 5x that of the bpo's that were spawned. (tinfoil hattery time, zomg were those *reall* the only bpo's?!... my answer is likely.)
I think the damage of these cheats shouldn't determine how "bad" they are. Problem is that exploiting(!) the bugged complexes/spawn rates were game mechanics. Of course not intended BUT it were game mechanics.
Spawning bpo's or winning them illegaly in the auction system is not exploiting bugged game mechanics, it is pretty much "creation" of new game mechanics via dev powers. The problem here is that spawning bpo's is no exploit because the game mechanics are not broken, just the dude abusing his dev powers is "broken".
However, as you explained the industrial damage caused by for example RA's exploits is much higher the reputational damage caused by the t20 incident had more impact than everything RA did or didn't. So should we measure the "badness" of "cheats" by their industrial or reputational (is that even a word ^^) damage?

Contrary to popular believe many devs and GMs still play this game. They play it because they have fun playing it i would imagine. It also has the sideeffect of them collecting first-hand expirience with their product and consumers.
What has The Enslaver being a GM since january to do with anything? You make it sound like it is a bad thing. It was a bad thing from Kugutsumen to make it public because its not his damn business. Well, all wars have their "down" periods, now if D2 is dealing with YouWhat, and the others with SMASH, who is to say that, there aren't other agents skirmishing around bob's controlled space?
Would you like your enemys to have a backdoor access to your domain, puting your frontlines at stake?
Would you settle for treachery lightly or would you deal with the subjects fixing all the loose ends before you deal with the rotten apple?

QFT. Of course, the irony of this is that the Coalition have largely become the propoganda-spewing haters -- ready to throw barbs at anyone with an opposing position or opinion -- the very thing they claim is an underpinning of BoB behavior to be eradicated.

So basically you are saying that instead of everyone being a BoB pet, they should be an RA pet because they are big and need the money and don't like BoB? You are playing the "who is the lesser of two evil" game. In this game the BoB leadership is far more trustworthy then RA ever will be. If RA wants to try to run a huge alliance on some 10/10 plexes, that is their own fault, and shame on people for supporting them. What would happen if some enterprising plex farmers camped those 10/10s for a week or two? It's not hard to do, just farm the keys and have a few BSes with cloaks and a WCS or 2. Would RA as an alliance all of a sudden be in a financial crisis? It's ridiculous.
LV doesn't have much left as far as space, but they have some very ****ed off pilots still. Do you really think they will just give up because they have no more space? I forsee them returning to empire for a few days, and then going on the offensive against the north or RA. With most of RA moving out to feyth it leaves their backdoor open. even if they do not succeed in taking much of their space, RA will of had to pull back from the frontlines and go on the defensive.
And frankly, you have no idea what is going on in fountain or querious. Fountain is back to pre-war status almost. The occasional raiding party, maybe a small fleet passing through once in awhile, but there are NO sov wars, or even a large presence of northern alliances in fountain anymore. And this was thanks to mostly Xelas, Aftermath, and the other small alliances that reside there. The constant harassment and fighterbombings of smaller alliances are what defeated D2 and friends in Fountain, NOT the BoB capital fleet. Bob helped quite a bit taking out posses quicker then the locals could, but if it wasn't for the little guys making life as miserable as possible for D2, they wouldn't of left. For the record, just so you get it through your head for the last time. D2 came with a huge cap fleet and lots of supplies. D2 tryed to fight. D2 was countered every single time and suffered constant harassment(they also lost a titan). D2 LEFT. They are not in FA, they are gone, and they were gone before YouWhat announced anything.
And in Querious the North holds no stations. They are basing out of low-sec Khanid as they have nowhere else to go really. And they are being harassed by FIX, KIA, and now EM. [BTW IRON, fighting your BS fleet at our pos is not our style. Assassinating your FC in an ABSO with nanoships just after the fleet breaks up is :)] It's kind of sad that IRON/RZR/PURE/MM have to get a fleet of like 40 people to even undock or risk getting wtfpwned.
So if you want to sum it up. RA/GOON have been successful (at a large cost though). They are currently invading Feyth/Eso, which was lightly defended to start with. The infighting is starting to get to the coalition however, time will tell if the southern component will hold together.
The north has not been successful with their invasion. D2 and friends were pushed out of FA. IRON/RZR/MM/PURE were also pushed out of Querious after giving it their all(respect for going all out, I think some of the best fights have been in Querious). Now the north has their own problems with 2 smaller but troublesome alliances siding against them. We will have to see where this goes.
I'm not sure though if when the southern guys make it to delve (if they make it) that they will be able to put up a good enough fight with what is left to push their way in. Delve is a fortress.

Nobody expects this to be over in 2 weeks, it will be a war of attrition and anyone that expects either the coalition or BOB and friends to roll over die has no idea of the relative strenghts of either side.
Rather than continual speculation of who is going to win and how they are doing, just enjoy the fact you can log on and have instant PvP action, which I am guessing is why you pay your monthly subscription.
As for your "40 man fleet" quote, we just gang people who ask for it - with people returning from work in the UK some times are busier than others, but there are also roaming gangs of much smaller size than have not been engaged by hostile forces

Sorry to say so Ceratin, but I at least tried to analyze the current situation. If my analysis is wrong please point out where. If my preception of the current situation is wrong, please show me where I percieve things wrong.
But isn't it true that especially D2 is not doing anything in Fountain. For days now the map shows almost no kills in the last 24 hours. D2's killboard shows almost no kills there. The weekend I saw no large gangs in Fountain (of neither side though).
But if D2 can't bind BoB forces in Fountain then BoB is easily able to fight on the other fronts!
Maybe if you think I am all wrong you can point out where I am wrong and feed me with your point of view?
-- The reason for this is simple, There is no one in the north.
Simply put D2 is trying to pretend its losing, and dying while all the while secretly establishing bases in the south, In delve, Stain and a few other locations.
The coalition is now on phase two, to assualt bobs space, but they will fail. Personally i think d2 can rott, I requested them to help ASCN when we fought bob, and they told me to stuff it, and i warned them this would come...
CArrying on, they will fail, I am done taking sides on the coalition, or bob. Im declaring neutrality, accept when it comes to d2, which i will unconditionally help bob kill. Hey, Pay backs a pain. its my belief that bob will win this war, i have seen it, and anticipated moves of the coalition, the flaw in their tactics is that they are doing what ascn did to bob, Namely pos-waring or "hidding" in pos's, Game over coalition, no offese to my many friends there, but as a neutral person, i just think your done for.
With that said, Grats bob, You have taken your first step to gloy, You have now taken most of eves power, and problem solo'd the largest body of alliances to ever unite to fight a single entity in eve.

D2 probabily told you to stuff it because you held no authority in ASCN. You where made a FC for a very short amount of time and where the worst FC i've ever had the mis-pleasure of flying with. so bad infact, that we all started podding you instead. Before BoB stopped posting on forums:
- BoB (Molle) posts some flamebait which can be summarized in "OMGWEROCKYOUSUCKDIEDIEDIE!!!11!!!". - Opposition bites. = flamefest
After BoB's forum squad have been put on a leash:
- Newly created alt corps who we've never seen posting on the forums before (make your own conclusions) post flamebait which can be summarized as "OMGOMGOMGCOALITIONISDEADTHEYAREFALLINGAPARTDIEDIEDIE!!!11!!". - Opposition bites.

This section of the forums has always been kinda "hot", and politics and its consequences are part of the game...however...anyone who thinks BoB are suddenly nice guys now because they were put on a leash better think twice. My first question would be, how would you know exactly wich stage/phase we're in, becuase by my count we're at around phase 20, I seem to remember phase two being something about letting two hostile entities in the south pew pew it about for a while and sitting back and watching the sparks (*albeit it was much quicker then we imagined ) then you say you requested help, from your enemy, and got told where to go? Im confused as to why you think they would have helped? and I am sure I am not alone in saying it was of no surprise/shock etc that the North would wind up in a fight with the Band of Brothers, being, oh I don't know, uhmm maybe given is a better word. yes, given that most of the alliances/corps in the North have long played pew pew with Robert. anyways happy thursday! and back to mining I go.
