So with some changes announced on the o7 show, with minimal around the Orca itself i had an idea that could be added if it hasn't already, that will fit in slightly better given the Battlecruiser size booster they mentioned for mining.
Give the Orca the ability to compress ore and give it a smaller amount of the mining drones that the Rorq is going to get. This will make the Orca a clear stepping stone between the Battlecruiser mining booster and the Rorq while also making the price of the Orca more worthwhile given they will now need to be on grid.
Just my two cents even though no real info about the Orca has come out  |

ehhhh....... I have a character that practically lives in his orca. I've no real complaints about it. It's a pretty powerful ship, especially for high sec. Sure, it doesn't blow a bunch of stuff up, but the options it does open up for its fleet mates are already pretty strong.
I would hesitate on giving it more, especially ore compression. Maybe rejig its bays slightly, or increase the drone bay a bit, but that would be about it.

This is something I've been saying for the past few months should be added in one way or another. It would be totally in character for both the Orca and the Rorqual to have and would also make both more desireable despite their size. A mining command battlecruiser could provide the same boosts but an orca could keep a mining fleet in the belt longer without requiring a hauler.
That said, adding a utility high (or more than one) and some grid/CPU to the Orca for mounting a tractor would be nice. Maybe bonuses could be changed/added so that instead of a tractor range bonus the orca can a mount capital tractor instead. An extra utility midslot and more capacitor would also be nice and allow a large shield booster, decent resists and a survey scanner to be mounted and used at once.
Mining drones on an orca? No thanks.

IMO the Orca needs to be gutted and reworked
- Keep the tank about the same - more fitting slots for utilities - 2x or 3x the ore bay. 50-100k Fleet hangar, with reduced standard cargo hangar - ability to use those Rorqual mining drones (so bigger drone bay) - oh and don't forget to switch the rig slots to capital rigs vs the current large.

And when we are with that give it a indu core for better boosting so we can get rid of the rorq.
And now without sarcasm. No you have the posibility to compress ore in highsec (pos) use this or get out of highsec and use the rorqual.
