Edited by: Rugid Young on 14/03/2007 07:42:14 Hi guys, I need some serious help here. IÆm a 6 month old character and recently purchased a Megathron with no idea how to set it up. Right now IÆm doing missions to get some combat experience. But I really want to do pvp. If you guyÆs could help me out it would be appreciated. Thank Rugid Young.

Missions won't help with pvp experience.
Use a thorax as a cheap alternative blastership if you want that.

It goes something like in this direction:
Highs: 7x Ion Blaster Cannons Meds: 1x Webber 1x Scrambler 1x Cap Booster 1x MWD Lows: 1-2x Large Armor Repairer (or Medium as second) 0-1x Capacitor Power Relay 1x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane 1x Thermic Hardener 1x Kinetic Hardener 1x Explosive Hardener 1x Damage Control
+Drones (Medium + Heavies ?) +Rigs (Capacitor Control Circuits or Auxiliary Nano Pumps are always good choices)
Money, skills & fitting requirements define the details - if Tech 1, Tech 2 or Faction equipment etc.
But most answers to your request will probably be like "if you don¦t know what to fit you are not ready yet". PVP is learning by doing what means learning by loosing ships. So it¦s better to first start PVP with cruisers where you can afford a ship loss.

wait Seth said, but with a nos, and if you can fit T2 EAMNs and have the armour comp skills at 4 go with 3 of those and a damage control instead of active hardeners. Gives you better resists for less cap useage, which in a blasterthron can only be a good thing. ---------- It's great being minmatar, ain't it |

In general, Gallente ships are blasterboats. In specific, the Megathron is the epitome of a blasterboat. Your only two options are rails and blasters, and rails aren't really that useful if you're tackling yourself. Caldari are more the rail-using type, with their range bonuses.

I'm guessing you are looking for a setup for small gang pvp and not fleet battles. For small gang pvp you have two options as i see it:
- a full out gank setup with neutrons and a so called endurance tank (basicly a big dmg buffer that holds long enough to kill the target, you rep after the fight)
- a dual rep setup with electrons and good resists (tanks longer, but deals less dmg)
The latter one is probably better for smaller gangs.
The usual mid slot setup for a blasterthron is MWD, scram, web and cap injector, but if you have people to tackle for you feel free to swap it out for sensor boosters or EW. Though I would not take out the MWD or the cap injector. You need to get to your target and be able to let the blasters rip as you get there!
Now if I was wrong and you are in fact looking for a fleet setup for the mega then.... I cant help

What about low slots?

EANM = energized adaptive nano membrane.
Low slots depend on what type of Blasters you decide to use.
Neutrons means you have a weaker tank, Some say plates are the way to go there with a few dmg mods. Because of the sheer damage you deal with that setup its a matter of outlasting your opponent while you blast him to bits. Thus Neutrons are usually Plated heavily.
Electrons are usually heavy tanked with 2 reppers and most remaining lows fitted with Resistance mods.
Ions are a compromise between neutrons and electrons.
