Edited by: Ortu Konsinni on 14/03/2007 13:03:38 I just noticed new entries and values in the database, pertaining in particular to nosferatus: entityShieldBoostDelayChanceSmallMultiplier entityShieldBoostDelayChanceMediumMultiplier entityShieldBoostDelayChanceLargeMultiplier entityArmorRepairDelayChanceSmallMultiplier entityArmorRepairDelayChanceMediumMultiplier entityArmorRepairDelayChanceLargeMultiplier ...with varying values depending on the size and "quality" (T1, named, T2, etc.; diminishing and T2 have the same stats apparently) Could that be CCP's nerf to nosferatus?
Apologies if it's been mentioned before. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

I think it's rather obvious: entityShieldBoostDelayChanceLargeMultiplier I bolded the important part. My understanding is that using a nosferatu on a target implies a possibility that your shield booster (or armor repairer) may have a slower cycle. The other factors are the size of the nosferatu and the size of the shield booster or armor repairer. Those values don't mention how much slower the cycle would be, just the chance that it will happen, though.

That would mean fitting a nos could boost cap even more... slower repair cycles while nossing cap = happy capicitor. Would hurt tanking ability for short fights though.

I imagine those values have something to do with the fact that NPCs are less likely to boost their shields or repair their armor while being NOS'd. These entries most likely apply to something already ingame, not some new, amazing way to nerf NOS. ----- That is a Templar, an Amarr fighter. It is a combat drone used by carriers. |

Yes, that makes sense, too... it's just that it never showed up in QuickFit until I updated to the new version a couple days ago, and I only noticed it today. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

Think this seems more likley. I think the term 'entity' in DB entries usually refers to NPC 'entities'.
Still, interesting thing to consider. -----

I agree, it most likely refers to NPCs, it seems to work as intended too, at least after a few checks.
Still, interesting thing to consider.

Looking at this from a PvP perspective I think it is a good move however this will not effect nanoships as they are all about speed.
It is also going to hurt some PvE setups that require a Nos on your ship to sustain your tank and I can see them becoming more Vital as we get Agent lvl 5 - 7 missions
I would like to see this implemented so If you have 1 Nos there is no effect but any more than one has a stacking increase to the delay to use your Shield Booster/armour Repairer

This is also how I read it.... after all it saus "entity" which to my mind = "target"

combine that with the suggested MWD nerf and you have got buggered nos/nano fittings.. which is basicly all the game needs --------------------------------

Well, now that we've established that this isn't what I initially thought... it is indeed a decent idea to implement. It won't fix the problem with nanoships since they don't tank anyway (or hardly so), but it would be a step in the right direction. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

NOS are too much anyway. There should just be Neuts that use your cap and Neuts that kill half the amount but dont use any of your cap and thats that... Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

yeah i'm still waiting for the nos nerf, so neuts will have some meaning...
and i still think they should include some "hardened electronics" items you could include in low slot, that would make all nos take 50-60% less cap from you.
