My friend and I use smart bombs some times and have had several deaths from friendly fire (concord). I realize theres no way to turn off taking the damage from said weapons, but is there a way to tell the server that we dont mind the other shooting at us?
Thanks for any help

I suppose you could move to null..or use the duel feature, but smartbombs might not be a good idea in HS.
Anyone or anything caught up in the radius will activate concorde revenge as I understand it. |

If you are in the same corporation, set your corporation to allow friendly fire.
If you aren't in the same corporation or don't want to allow all your corpmates to shoot you, you can try looting each others' cans. This will get you suspect flagged, so everyone can shoot at you.
You can also try duelling. This flags the two of you as being in a limited engagement for a short period of time during which you can shoot each other with gay abandon.

If you're going to be using smart bombs in hisec you need to make sure that there is absolutely nothing within their range, being area of effect weapons you may unintentionally drop Concord on your own arses if you catch a structure, another player or anything else with the "splash" from them.
Civilized behaviour is knowing that violence is barbaric, but paying other people to do it is business.

What are you using smart bombs for? There's probably a better solution.

If you hit literally anything with a smartbomb in high security space, it's likely that concord will come after you.
I'm not sure what the list of illegal items are but it's probably not worth the risk. |

IF you are solo missioning and run across a lot of small ships or drones and you are in a larger one, a smart bomb can be a smart tool. You just have to make sure any non-targets are NOT in range.

It wasn't practical, but it was a lot of fun. Great for killing drones, and tracking isn't an issue.
I think my largest victim was a rogue drone installation in a complex. I barely had room for the loot after clearing the cans. |

I'm all for fitting ships creatively for funsies but at a maximum of 27 dps (with perfect skills) I really wouldn't recommend that to anyone (not to say you are....just reiterating that it's not practical).

When I was but a nubbin and a carebear I got pissed off with mining and the quiet life. I decided I wanted to do something stupid yet fun.
So I fitted up a Tristan with nothing but smartbombs, Microwarpdrive, and a token tank. I raced over to the nearest null-sec region and decided "I am going to attack their first thing I see!"
Sure enough, a Vexor (or was it a Thorax?) warped in on a gate. We locked eyes. I bum rushed the cruiser and ignited my smartbombs.
The cruiser pilot did nothing for a good minute. It simply sat there as I scratched away at its shields and orbited at 500m.
In hindsight, I am reasonably certain that the other guy was physically unable to retaliate due to the fits of laughter he/she was in (because that is probably what would have happened to me in the same situation... hell, I didn't even have a warp disruptor on my poor frigate). The sheer gall and noobishness I was displaying must have been astounding.
I died within 15 seconds of the cruiser sending its drones after me.
So yeah... take heed and learn from me what not to do. Don't fit smartbombs on your frigate.

Also... I was going against the corporation's wishes by doing this ("Don't do it!! You'll die asshat!")... so I was pretty much on my own.

I don't always do things that are sensible (worst idea I ever had: Mission of Mercy in an artillery Thrasher)
I learned a lot about ship fitting by doing unconventional things.
And ya, had some silly fun along the way... in a game. Madness
Got my first job in EvE from using that smartbomb Condor ... but that's another story. |

Hey i used a disco tristan as well in some drone sites. Then someone else came and used his drones on them.
And one time i was mining and someone stole my can! So I switched from my mining coercer into my disco tristan.
And died. But I was one hell of a brave, and stupid, noob. XD
