Where exactly are you going in England? London? Then check out the various things there that will certainly be listed in any tourist guides. Somewhere else? Dunno

It depends where abouts in England you're going really, and what kinds of places you like to visit (e.g. historical, natural, educational, etc). -------------------------

Do you actually mean England when you sy England, or do you mean Britain?
What do you want to do? Historical stuff- Stonehenge, any of the god-knows-how-many castles, Tower of London...... Outdoorsy places- New Forest, Bournemouth beaches, (if you mean Britain, and not England) Welsh countryside (great watersports and climbing)........... Theme Parks- Alton Towers, Blackpool...........Nightlife- London, Edinburgh (again, if you meant Britain), any of the big cities. You get the idea. --------

Oi! less of that, I only live a mile or so from there. and ill have you know its a thriving multicultral part of manchester that just so happens to have a high murder rate thats all.
Tips for england.. Humm lets see where to avoid, Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle.
From my experiance, I can tell you the area around cumbria and yorkshire are very nice in the summer time, try to find a nice spot if you won't some peice and quiet. Names to look up for you are: Lake windermere or mear I forget, sedbeigh, York if you like a bit of history.

Edited by: Mayoz Miner on 14/03/2007 23:54:28 If you come to Manchester, England make sure you visit these places
Salford, Longsight, Moss Side, Hulme, Chetham Hill, Ancoats, Moston and Old Trafford( just because of the Football ground )
These are places to go if you really want to know what Manchester, England is all about but if you only like visit the 'pretty parts' go to maybe Altrincham, Salford Quays, cheadle and many more....
EDIT - Lots of people like to visit the Lake District its meant to be really nice in the summer.

Never ask for directions in Wales, Baldrick. You'll be washing spit out of your hair for a fortnight.

Avoid London at all costs, it is, in essence, another country that thinks the rest of the UK revolves around. "Hey lets build something here, only us rich mofo's want it, but lets get the whole country to pay for it who will never see it or care" "whats that? a bomb in Birmingham? thats a shame.." "What? Congestion charges in London? Put it on national news, EVERYONE must know this, they'll be outraged!"
Avoid the North, full of savages and men in skirts. Avoid the East, you can marry their daughters for merely ú1 sterling, but not much there to see in terms of content. Avoid the South, if you can understand what they are saying in their gypsy code language, then your main worry would be the smell.
The west however enjoys people who speak fluent English, have had electricity for several years and have running water...both hot and cold. The weather ranges from bleak to murky, so you're never caught out.
