I havent got the skill to use DCM lazors yet but a corp made dose. He cant figure out how to use them or if they're even useable yet; anyone have any ideas on how to use the lazor?
Heard a couple rumors but nothing has produced results so far...

I think what most are wondering is where to look for that type of ore. is it found in gas fields around some planets. in debris fields around wreckage or abandon stations or what. since lots folks have looked in belts from 1.0 down thru 0.0 and not found any
I Think that is more the question being asked here

Well we have the lazor and we just dont know what to do with it, right now its just a colorfull worse-then-basic-miner lazor.
Some people said you just mine normal ore and on occasion you'll pull out the rare ore instead, some said you had to find the atual ore in a belt and some say its not even in-game yet.
Anyone have anything conclusive on DCMs? Just curious cause im not far from being able to use it myself but if it dosent do anything anyway, i'll just wait (same thing with the jump drives =P)

i have heard about people that have found the ore. I recommend testing them on at chaos. they are training places there

Edited by: Reah on 22/12/2003 02:02:34 DCM lasers are needed to mine the new ore(mercoxit). while mining it it will create damage clouds that damage ur ship! The roids strike back!
this ore is supposed to be really rare, so i doubt u will find it anywhere but in dead end systems, atleast i havent seen it anywhere else
edited some typos

grand... as if meacyte and zydrine werent enough, now im seeing the new mineral for sale at 145k a piece x.x
now that it requires a friggen fleat of battleships to even survive in deep space, the little corps are just gona get smaller and smaller : [sarcasim]thanks CCP, i cant even mine zydrine by myself anymore...[/sarcasim] I guess they're just trying to push mineral prices up untill it becomes profitable to recycle giant containers or something.
Castor is great but I thought deepcore was going to help with the mega and zyd shortages. Unfortunatly it did the exact opposite, just created yet another mineral on the ass end of avalibility.
*sigh* so i might as well just train something else then since i cant use the lazor anyway huh?
cant wait to see a tech 2 executioner at 2 million beacuse no one cane aquire the meroxite >.<

Drake, you dont NEED mercoxit to make ships. All you need is construction components to make ships now. They cost a little since noc corps make em. Dont see how tech lvl 2 frigates would become 2mil in the first place. ------------------------------------------------
In two seconds it was gone. And all that was left was a corpse. The poor Frigate never standed a chance againest the scorpion. Now he knows not to rat huntiong in his frigate in 0.0. Too bad he never learns his lesson. |

The Ore isn't more rare than Bist. We've found it 10+ jumps from a station. FYI DCM is very slow, the lasers take a lot of CPU and so far there is little demand for the mineral. If I was me I'd mine the best high-end roids you can right now, make your Isk on Megacyte or Zydrine as the prices for those are demented ATM.
So yes, you have to find the new asteroid, you have to duck VERY powerful pirates (usually 7-15 NPC cruisers, if not the occasional battleship) and you have to protect your indys from the rats and the damage cloud.

That would be my point, DCM's are useless at this point. My little corp cant survive in deep space (now) to mine anything, little less meroxicte.

I shouldnt have to get on the dev server to test something on Tranq, besides, from what I hear, what they have on chaos is nothing compaired to the real thing...
