So today I was playing around with a few SiSi setups I have been meaning to test for a while. One of them is the Passive Shield tanking Myrmidon I have seen mentioned a few times on the Ships & Mods forum.
Well, suffice to say, I thought it was a rather insane tank.
Linkage
Setup was:
6 Med Dim Nos
2 Invuln II, 3 Large Shield Extender II
6 Shield Power Relay II
3 Core Defence Purger I
I don't know exactly where this setup might fit into my arsenal, but it certainly was funny...

That's pretty sick man.. did you get any of the normal shield hardwirings too or is it just skills and mods?
Ow and did you check the logs to see the avg dps you were tanking?
All the stuff above does not necessarily reflect my corp, my alliance or even me..

I had a couple of the 3% hardwirings I think, and no, didnt check for dps.

we've run into one of these before a couple weeks ago, was impressed but not terribly impressed. however this one was mostly t1 and I didnt see any rigs

DLing right now...
also: my mate flies a drake along the same setup line, apart from he uses no hardeners, only BC5 and 1 gang shield resistance module. It can tank any sub-dread ship in the game indefinitely with max skills on either side.
As an example we took a 6 neutron II, void, Ogre II 5 mag-stab 2xomnidirectional tracking comp Dominix with max skills on TQ and it couldn't break it. By the time neutrons reloaded, Drake was at 75% shield back again by natural recharge :)

It's completly broken game mechanics atm with the power of passive shield tanks.
And it's a complete joke that you can make a passive shield tanked Myrmidon far superior to any active tanked Myrmidon when its bonuses are to an active armour tank...

The eos does this even better (as does the ishtar) than the mrym and they always have done before rigs came into the game but thats all it is and sodding useless in pvp .

Oh noes, quick, nerf teh i-stabs. Its not like caldari are the best tankers.
They are even adding a stacking penalty to armor reps these days. Shield boosters already have this stacking penalty, but boost amps solve it. Now passive shield tanking is becoming ridiculous on Cal ships with boni to res. R.I.P 800 temp.
