Why isn't there an option to render characters as good as they are rendered in character creations for machines which are powerful enough to run it? All my settings are maxed out |

Its about lighting.
Its like the same difference between study photograph and the underlith room with a greenish or blueish tone of light.
Since all you see is light, and it can come in different ways reflected off the thing, impressions will vary.
If you will walk into some more direct lighting you can see it depends on the scene lighting.

The character creator rendition is obviously sharper with less aliasing visible. HOWEVER -
I much prefer they spend time on game function rather than eye candy. Not sayin'....

Outside of Citadels the VAST MAJORITY of changes they've done in the past 4 months have been visual upgrades and new effects, and some minor tweaks to existing mechanics. |

Without a complex background, more graphics resources can be devoted to the character rendering.
Also, the actual portrait you see after you are all done is created on a special server that does a much better job, but takes minutes to do one frame.

welp now try to take those pics in amarrian station,
recently I've learned that matiral of my clothing have really weird reflective properties.....
and that there are weird stuff between my face and hairs.....
