Tareen Kashaar Jericho Fraction The Star Fraction	Posted - 2007.03.15 10:13:00 - [1] Preface: This is not a whine directed at CCP, this is a general whine So last night I realize that I'll have to get up a little early to plug in the next one when my skill finishes. I barely manage, only to realize that the servers are down early... I think "Hm, it can't be that bad, probably just a quick restart, right?" but then I see the server status message change: "Tranquility is Currently down due to database issues it will be back up at 11:30 Please accept our apologies." Looking at the clock, I realize that I have to be at work at 11:00. D'oh! There goes a good day's worth of skill time So please, go ahead and cheer me up! What's the worst EVE/Murphy combination that ever hit you? --- WTS: Forum Signatures, 30mil a piece. Evemail me!
sorilin Amarr Setenta Corp Xelas Alliance	Posted - 2007.03.15 10:16:00 - [2] i think i wasted a few skills due to this, but u dont see me angry about it.. a web interface would be nice thou so u can change skill from work etc.. i am lucky thou i can have an eve client installed at work now.. but not all can. and skill is of importance. I am the borg!

Firmus Ixion	Posted - 2007.03.15 10:55:00 - [9] Recently podded and lost 25 days from BS5, not checking your clone FTL Also yeah i've gone through the same thing as you several times with extended DT's and such, or simply waking up late for work, racing around like a maniac to get ready and leave for work only to get half way to work and remember my skill finished at the same time my alarm was set for to wake me up and i'd forgotten to update it, didn't someone mention somewhere that there's a Eve client coming out for palm pilots? with limited chat capabilty and ability to update skills? Lol not yet and yeah don't feel so bad for losing a few hours :P I was training Destroyers 5 at the time (that was the lvl 5 that took me over my clone) but since i have all the other prerequisited for carriers and dreadnaughts yeah i will be training it again after i finish my dictors training, and during it i'll be both kicking myself in the ass and cursing CCP for being so harsh on such small mistakes.

Yeah, the skillpoint count in the char sheet only updates when you finish or abort a skill, so if you're happily chewing away at that 35 day skill you won't see your skillpoints rising in the char sheet, assuming that's what happened to you. EVEmon keeps a running count though, so might be worth a shot Well well, EVE is unforgiving.
