...the lag (good god...and i know others, some in a different country, are getting insane 5 second lag spikes for no apparent reason), the buggy/clumsy interface, the creeping feeling that this game is in beta (as some other people seem to think also oddly) the extended downtimes (have been several on my trial accounts, cutting my playtime short), the griefers (people who just kill you but don't respond after gg, nothing, silence, not pleasant O_O), and just oodles of other things...my 3.5 trial accounts have been alot fun, though, just i'm not paying for a great game in this state.

Figuring out that EvE isnt for you is NOT a decent reason to post on this forum. Go play wow and complain about their DT...

1. You know how much it takes to run a MMORPG like EVE with 20K+ people playing at same time? extended downtimes happens.
2. What lag? You can do things to reduce lag. Get out of crowded systems, turn off sound, it can be your system that causes lag. Thought about that?
3. What do you mean with beta? EVE is a ever expanding game.
4. Interface is good as it is.
5. Griefers are part of EVE, adapt, overcome, learn.
6. Like in the real world, there are nice people and bad people. There are positive/good/light and negative/ebil(evil)/dark sides of EVE, move on if you stumble into a person that is clearly evil(ebil) person, you can avoid them.
7. You judge a game, when you not even have scratched the surface of it?
8. EVE is not perfect, but it is a great game.

I made a perfectly civilised if not stream-of-concious like point about how I really like eve, yet there are so many things that make me think paying for it is not such a good deal. Take your little trolls somewhere else..WoW perhaps, where the little kiddies might respond in kind  ?
And let me be clear on this, Eve online; killing players, non consensual combat, tactics, getting myself blown to ****, et al, IS most definitely for me. Don't strawman me as a carebare if you happen to disagree. I've had a lot of fun for nothing, yet also am damn frustrated by the lags and such when my PC is free to play eve.
Infact i might just make a mining/industry char, so when the new client comes out (which should be less laggy), i'll have a ton of iskies and a heap of skill points to start with, and be able to make loads of ships/weapons to get blown up...hmmmm

But seriously, the things you've described are not unique to EVE. If you're hoping to find an MMO that doesn't suffer from any of those, you're in for a very long and fruitless search.
By their very nature, an MMO that does not introduce new content stagnates and dies off rapidly. The accusations of 'it's just a Beta' are rather lame in that respect. What do people want? 10 years to develop a 'finished' game to then be released and that's it?
Sounds like EVE (and maybe MMOs in general) are not for you then. GL with whatever else you go off to do.

Hoe noes, somebody doesn't like EVE!? Obviously they're stupid and should go play WoW.
Also, you aren't allowed to post in here about your opinions because apparently we're all forum mods now and we've decided general discussion only means discussion that is positive about EVE.

Seriously though, why do you people even bother writing "tihs gaem isnt fer me im not gunna suscrieb" posts? Not like anyone besides you cares; you're only gonna get a bunch of smart-ass answers.
That and the fact that if you're actually leaving, you won't follow the forum since it's no longer relevant, and thus will never read the replies to your own thread.

Topics like this always annoy me. Not the original posts, mind you, but the countless replies from the jackasses who automatically assume that if someone dislikes Eve they must be some immature child who belongs in World of Warcraft. When in reality, the content of their posts shows just how childish and immature they are, as opposed to the original poster who made some very valid complaints. (Admittedly, he could have used better grammar, capitalization, and the "Enter" key. Instead of assuming that he's an idiot though, I realize English is probably not his first language.)
These fan-boys rush towards any and all negative opinion of CCP or Eve and start spewing their mindless criticisms at anyone they think might have the slightest problem with Eve. I also love how they seem to take these kinds of posts personally, as if someone leaving Eve is physically hurting them somehow. Its as if a failure to like..., no, love Eve somehow makes the original poster inferior some to those that are "elite" enough to remain with Eve.
Its garbage posts like this that makes me think they are the ones who should go play World of Warcraft, or better yet, do the entire population of the world a favor and stay off the Internet all together. We don't need their asinine elitist garbage here.
Of course, that brings up another problem. People automatically assume that the scum of the universe play only World of Warcraft, but their presence here on the Eve forums seems to suggest that Eve has its fair share of undesirables as well. I've never played World of Warcraft, and I have no plans to, ever, but I don't assume that only idiots are attracted to it. Generally, only idiots and children deal in absolutes. Sadly, we get plenty of both here on the Eve forums. Such is the way of life, I suppose... |

I don't get lag, well I don't when im on eve as lately my internet has been dropping my connection. But when I was on it I never got lag, except after major patches ofc.

I think that those people do less damage on the intardnet than IRL
To the OP:
Too bad you weren't hooked during your trial. Of course it's not perfect and, like most MMORPG, the beginning can be frustrating/puzzling. In my case, 1 year (and a second account) later , I still have lots to discover/experiment.
Have fun in whatever you do.
