Once again the Privateers have seen fit to war dec the Ivy League. Once again, the ravening, bloodthirsty hordes of Eve Uni students and their older fellows will be roaming Empire, searching for targets to slake that bloodlust. Once more, targets will rarely be found as they flee before us.
This war annoys me.
Therefore, I have given orders that any privateer target is to be shown no mercy. Repeated death at the hands of the horde of noobs, or to sit bored as they camp you in stations. Every target found is to be run down until destroyed or forced to log off after being camped in for hours. They are to make this war as unfun for you as possible.
To those who would fight the Uni, we will offer you only boredom or death.
Silentbrick Fleet Admiral and Deranged Carebear.

True, Eve Uni and it's associated corps aren't your run of the mill corps/Alliance. We hold something of an odd place in the EVE Universe, which is why I do try to keep our graduates informed. Typically, the only time we post on here is when we are war decced or something special comes up, because our former students like to know what's going on with the Uni.
The Uni is a teaching corp, where players new to the game can learn to play the game in relative safety, taught by older players who freely donate their own time and often their own isk to help EVE get and keep our newbies. There is a steep learning curve in EVE, and the Uni helps people with that, so that they do not give up on the game after a week.
The Uni has alot of broad community support and we do not take sides in conflicts unless they are brought by force to us. We have an open door policy in regards to recruitment and if you come across someone new and desperate to learn the game, feel free to point them our way. In the Uni they will find a welcome home, people they can team up with to run missions, mine, learn to fight, and become productive and happy Eve Citizens.
I'm glad to hear it's going to be retracted, and I do thank you for that. I should warn you however that the students intend on getting as much mayhem into the short time it'll be active as they can.

Thanks, Surreptitious, for setting things straight (I assume, can't check from work).
It's good to know that the Privateers will indeed keep their word.

To those wondering, the EvE University constitution explicitly forbids them from ever declaring war against another corporation or alliance.
However, they've proven before that there is no force that can compete with them in an empire war. Have fun while the war lasts guys!

Last night, when the alliance mail came in with the announcement that Privateers had declared war on Eve-Uni, it was as if a thousand noobs screamed in joy at once, then scrambled about to find frigates and tech1 fittings.
This was to be my first war too, and I was frothing at the mouth as much as anyone else was - not because of the Privateers but because its my first war. Kudos Syrup for the fix! Although, its a bittersweet announcement for many.

Well I have seen how wild the students of the Eve Uni are, and somewhat this Privateer spanking will be a good stress release for the students, but they should not forget to study nor do homeworks. Although the Privateer hunt is sanctioned, it does not condone tardiness at school ----------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- "In the end, people think of the beginning" |

Its policy that Ivy League do not declare war on other alliances/corporations
But lots of Ivy pilots are waiting on pew-pewing the privateers that fly around Korsiki --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many |
