Edited by: Miss Anthropy on 15/03/2007 22:52:45 This is probably a tech support question and it'll get moved, but I figure I'll get a quicker reply if I (ahem) accidentally put it somewhere else.
Does the EVE client have a Vertical Sync option? I can't see one. With Vista you can't use V Sync Force On option on the Nvidia driver as it won't work.
Oh, and thanks for any replies.

Press escape to bring up the options tabs then click on graphics. It's called 'adapter refresh rate' and is about two-thirds down on the left-hand side.

My refresh rate on EVE is the same as on Windows. I'm guessing EVE doesn't have a separate V Sync option. Oh well.
Just for anybody's info, on the Nvidia site they have some small print under their new Beta Driver which states that V Syncing doesn't work under Vista using the Nvidia driver software. So that's why I'm having this problem. Hopefully Nvidia will get onto this quick. Until then it's back to XP.

A good few patches back V-Sync was accidentally switched on and it bombed the frame rate. (was turned off again after the patch was patched)

You can enable advanced options to change V-Sync on/off. Edit your prefs.ini file and add the line:
advancedDevice=1

Thanks. I've had a look at it and only two new options come up;
Multisample Type Present Interval
These have various different toggles but I've no idea what they do. Do you know which settings would enable the V/Sync?

Multisample is the same as AA (Anti-Aliasing).
Present Interval is Vsync. Immediate = Off And the rest I¦m not sure, some of them are = on.

Thanks again. I'll give that a try later on (at work just now). If it doesn't work I'll just switch back to XP.

All after 'immediate' are on, but each +1 after 1 supposedly halves the max frame-rate by 1/2. At least, that's how it is supposed to work.
Experiment! I had to switch Vsync on to prevent shredding on my LCD.
