I was just wondering, if it were for you to move into Europe, or move from one European country to another,
which country would you choose to settle in ? Oh and of course, why ?

Been thinking about that of late, not sure where to go though.
Currently in the UK which is an utter crap hole, been thinking about Rhineland as it has a good general reputation for being a sound place.
Still need to find out more about customs, jobs, crime, learning the language and all that jazz before moving

QFT i have been trying to get out of this crap hole for a fair few years since i was 18 now 25 so a few but trying to find out all the information you need to know is a pain to find.
probably if i was moving to another european country it would probably be denmark/holland

My current "top 5" are (not in order of preference):
1. New Zealand (Christchurch maybe...)
2. Canada
3. Japan
4. France (alpes only)
5. Norway
still years yet to go until i'm ready however, but unless things in the UK begin to improve...

I've always liked the idea of living there. If things had been different I might have been Canadian as my mother was going to live with her uncle out there not long after WWII.

Has to be in Europe? OK, then.
Somewhere like Sweden has plenty of appeal, but it would suck in winter. So maybe live in Sweden for the summer months, and then relocate to a Greek island for winter. Sound good?

Unless the country you are currently living in really sucks, then you have to remember this saying "The grass is always greener on the other side".
I know people that mvoed from the UK to various other countries such as NZ/OZ, some loved it some hated it, but never was it as good as they thought it was going to be.
Dont go somewhere on holiday and think its going to be like that to live there, dont go without visiting somehwere for an extended period of time and dont go somewhere thinking that its going to make your life so much better.
You owe me 100m isk for this advice :)
edit: to answer OP question - nowhere else as I dont speak the lingo, if i could be granted perfect legal skills then I would maybe retire to somewhere like Italy.

swedish girls are highly overrated tbh. Personally i think ill stay in sweden considering the worlds current political climate and swedens history of staying neutral in everything.

England is really going to the dogs and it isn't going to get any better soon. Immigration and a welfare system that encourages you to stay out of work means there is less and less being paid in and more and more being paid out. Political Correctness has gone insane and crime is out of control in a lot of areas.
If I could leave I would, France is a lovely Country but I find the pace too slow. It would have to be Germany, no nonsense approach and a beautiful place. Lived there years ago and loved it.

I have lived in England (most of my life) but also spent 2 years in Ireland (Drogheda to be precise) and Malta for 7 years.
Ireland is great for a holiday and visiting the relatives but I wouldn't want to live there for too long...
Malta was a fantastic place to grow up in. Great schools, nice weather, swimming from May to September - but again it is simply too 'small' and isolated.
London is fantastic (If you have money). No one in London really cares what you look like and what you do so you have great freedom to live life the way you chose. There is something happening all the time whether that is concerts, exhibitions, premieres, sports + other events. You really do feel at an important world hub. It is also a truly multicultural city which means that you can go to some events (for example the annual latin American festival - St Patrick Day celebration etc.) where you wouldn't actually realise you are in the UK - and I love that as you can get a flavour of other cultures without even travelling.
I have travelled quote widely throughout the rest of Europe and several places stand out for me as places where I could live:
- Copenhagen. It may be cold but there is an awesome atmosphere about the city and very friendly people who love to party (Well that's my impression from two visits)
- Barcelona. Fantastic vibe, chilled out and relaxed. Nothing beats the atmosphere on Las Ramblas or sipping mojhitos in some fantastic seaside restaurant.
- Prague. Beautiful city, beautiful ladies, great food and fantastic beer. What else can you ask for?
- Munich. I spent a week in Munich (unfortunately post an Oktoberfest) and just loved the city. Spotlessly clean, highly efficient, great lifestyle (it appeared) and a location giving easy access to most of the best parts of the rest of Europe - Switzerlan, Austria, Czech Republic France. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, fantastic lakes, beautiful castles and mountains. Also German food rocks + good beer too....

No they're not, comparing to the best every other country has to offer some look quite plain but compare the worst the others has to offer to our bag of rejects. I'm sticking with the bag of rejects.
