Edited by: Devine Asquith on 17/03/2007 09:46:14 According to CCP as of next patch the hulk will be inventable, on top of this decryptors will now increase the number of copies you get from an invented T2 BPC.
Woot.
(This was a public service announcement for those too lazy to read patch notes)

Even if the invention process costs a ton, you'll still be able to make money inventing hulks (initially, at least) because they are so damned overpriced. You can include the cost of invention plus some profit margin and still undercut the cartels by laughable amounts of isk. I look forward to see what the market does in the next month or two.

Yep. Now the overpriced item will be incognito ship data interfaces and stolen formulas decryptors
BTW, will decryptor drop rates improve at all? Especially for Amarr and Gallente....they only have one hack plex apiece, and it is a royal PITA to farm. Plus, y'know, eventually it'll be overcrowded.
Even a boost in hacking exploration sites would help compensate. ----------------------------------------------- Adm Vladimir Tinakin CFO Hadean Drive Yards |

I was just thinking that. Did CCP ever fix the base chance to invent a ship, or is it still slightly below the odds of winning a Tech 2 BPO in WoW? Because I'm not seeing anyone inventing HACs on TQ right now... ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

I invented a 5 run hulk BPC on the test server on my first try, with all skills at III, I then failed a ranis invention right after it ;)
So far at 50% with III skills.

The oft-quoted costs of manufacture are about 30mil. I think you'll see them down under the 100M mark within 2 months as everyone gets in there - particularly the small to medium sized corps that don't want to buy from everyone else and have a POS in place already.

...and lo there was much joy in the land of the carebears, for the tears of the BPO holders were both salty and delicious.
Now all the carebears needed was to be able to use one to actually make more money than a belt ratter.... but sadly it was not to be, except for those lucky few who did'st walk the valley of the megacyte.

Price drop of all T2 ships will happend, but not very fast and not a lot in first week or so. Choking point will be bpc creating time, inventing time and producing time.
Lets say someone try to invent Cerberus. It takes one MONTH to create 7 max run bpcs, more then two days to invent and nearly two days to produce one invented Cerberus. Now consider that base chance for ships is probably the same, meaning ~2 of 7 will be success. With datacore price drop, ship inventing will be profitable, but profit will come slowly and market price will drop slowly.
For modules invention, I predict price crash for more popular models in first week or so but datacore price drop will make profitable invention for other less popular modules.

It's just that almost noone is going to be stupid enough to buy a overpriced hulk, they will wait til the prices drop.

From my very sketching calcs, the time it takes to create a max run BPC and then do the invention process is quicker than actually building the T2 BPC.
Basically it means that you will be able to invent T2 BPC's faster than you will be able to actually build the ships.
This is all in a station of course. Increase times for POS :D

I'm really wondering what this means, since decryptors were already adding(+) to the max run. Does this mean there going back to the multipling(*) instead of adding(+) runs for decryptors?
