What is the EVE Gate? I have heard the name a few times but I know little of it.
What is it or what do people believe it is?

To many, the Great Gate in New Eden is nothing more than a relic of our past of little importance in the grand power plays of men in this universe. To others, it is a source of faith and a mystery waiting to be unlocked for whatever purpose it was originally intended.
I've recently devoted my resources to uncovering its secrets through Renua Foundation, and hopefully find the true source of its origins. It's a challenge I look forward to with a renewed sense of enthusiasm.

No one knows exactly what it is, but myth and ledgend surround it. Most tales tell of it being a gateway to another universe or dimension or some sort of interstellar or inter-galactic gate. In any case no one knows how to use it or generally is able to get close enough to figure out just what it is
I believe The Sanctuary branch of Sisters of Eve are also dedicated to investigating it

Some say it leads to our birthplace. The theory goes that humans originated on the far side of the gate, then came here. Their main evidence is that the network of ancient stargates leads to New Eden, and the EVE gate.
The Servant Sisters of EVE believe that God lies on the far side.

My personal historians have uncovered evidence that SUGESTS that the eve gate is in fact the gateway through which our ancestors emerged. Allthough I have no concrete proof as nobody has of yet been able to get close enough to varify anything. I do belives, as others do, that it is the gateway to the birthplace of our ancestors

I'm always a little dubious when mystical powers are ascribed to a physical artifact. However, as there are so many legends about it, it seems worthwhile to go looking for it. We people are naturally curious (a trait we inherit from cats) so I say let's go find the thing.
I don't think there's any truth to the legend that he/she/it who finds it will immediately be turned into a Turby. Besides, if Kaleigh is looking for it, I'm all about helping her. For academic reasons only, of course.

I know where the eve gate lies, in the ruined system of 'New Eden'. Should you be interested in going I would ask that I be allowed to accompany you both.

I have been to the New Eden system on numerous visits.
The sight is breath taking and beautiful, and not dulled each time I see it.
I'm not very bright on the history/physics deal (outside of flying ships that is), but I'm confused as to why an anomaly of that size and power has managed to stay open/active for the thousands of years we say it is old. If rumor/history is to be believed, it exploded once, won't it explode again?
Sadly, numerous pod pilots have seen fit to place anchored containers surounding the planet and gate. Some have even abandoned frigates or shuttles with their names and date engraved. All quiet sad as it detracts from the granduer.
While I personally never paid enough attention in church, I thought that Eden meant "Paradise" in the Amarrian faith. It is plausible that "New Eden" means we came from somewhere else, and found this "New" "Eden" that was equal to or surpassed Eden itself.
If you do go to visit, be warry of the local capsuleers along the journey. Many of them are pirates of a sort, and will not hesitate to attack you if they manage to catch you in their systems. With advances in computer navigations, however, the most dangerous moment is when you try to warp to the next gate, so bring a small fast ship such as a shuttle or a sturdy frigate.

Be very careful when you visit it - the "Eve gate" destroys ships that get too close.
I'm of the opinion that it's a wormhole of some kind, possibly connecting to a white hole at its other end - the energy emissions of such, together with associated gravitic phenomena, might explain its desrtuctive properties.

I've been to New Eden myself, in an Atron. I can tell you this: it's unapprochable. My navigational systems refuse to lock onto it. Whatever's there, the Servant Sisters of EVE refuse to let us see it. The closest I got to it was by flying to the star. Floating above it, I espied a brilliant, shimmering ball of white light, brighter than any star, sending waves of energy light-years wide into the cosmos in all directions. Even several AU from the object itself I could feel intense electromagnetic and gravimetric turbulence through the walls of my pod. My ship had trouble keeping itself steady.
The object itself seems to be surrounded by unimaginably powerful magnetic turbulence. I attempted to zoom in, for a higher-resolution image, but the object was simply too bright. It didn't appear to have parallax movement in relation to the system's star (a small, unimpressive white dwarf) so I am forced to assume it is a considerable distance from the system itself. From the view of the system's single surviving planet (a gas giant), the EVE Gate is roughly comparable in apparent size to the star, which means, judging from the lack of parallax, that the object is hidden by some sort of gigantic, luminous gas cloud, or is itself unimaginably immense.

The Eve 'Gate' is nothing more than an interesting spatial phenomena. There are lots for neat theories about it, but they're just silly science fiction stories that people take way too seriously. Any rational minded person can see our common ancestry, but it didn't come from some magical, mystical universe. What's next, some parallel universe where everything costs one isk?
Obviously, the real mystery is hidden by the Jovians. They're up to something, I know it! Everything going on in the known galaxy and beyond is happening according to their secret plan! I don't have proof - they're too good to leave evidence - but just think about it. You know it makes sense!

Sadly, that is about the level this thread has degraded to. The Eve Gate is visible in the New Eden solarsystem, and calls for scientific study, not religious drivel.

The holoreel i got from the imperial academy "So, you've decided to undock" mentioned the gate as a part of the history lesson:
"The EVE gate is the original entry point, or a super wormhole if you will, of all the four races present in our universe. It has long ago collapsed and the collapse cause the first ever universal war."
It's a short snippet and i'm paraphrasing a bit, but seems logical.

Hooch, you do realize, don't you, those tinfoil hats actually amplify certain frequencies, making it easier for the jovians to control your brain while you wear said hat. What you want to be wearing is a lead hat, but those are rather heavy and unpleasant to the eye (not to mention toxic).

The Eve Gate... A source of mystery, spirituality and curiosity since our first steps into space.
For me, it does not really matter WHAT the Gate is, but more so what it represents.
It is rather obvious that all our races share a common ancestry.
While different living conditions, gravitational forces and other factors during the course of time has led to some variation in the races physiology, the similarities are nevertheless striking.
The Gate is the heart of our galaxy, the heart of it's people.
We were all once born from the gate, yet for some reason separated and went each on our own paths.
Why this happened, I do not know. I suspect we never will.

The ΞνΞ Wormhole has been the summit of speculation and belief. It all depends on whom you ask, the Sisters of ΞνΞ believe that it is the gateway to heaven, while others - primarily capsuleers - believe it is where mankind originated. There is no definitive answer as it is far too unstable and dangerous to approach or study it close-up. So, I believe your answer would be we don't know, but it is probably a matter of time before someone solves the mystery the mystery. |

It's all an Amarr conspiracy, I tell you..
Point 1. The EVE gate is claimed to have something to do with all our origins, Amarrians look upon themselves as if they were the original humans and the rest of us some form of degraded subspecies.
Point 2. The EVE gate is Situated in Amarr space. (!!!!)
Point 3. The Amarr imperials refuse to police the area, aswell as keeping Concord out of the area. Thus making the New Eden system hazardous to venture at best. (this is to ensure that the "Gate" is not studied to carefully).
Point 4. Amarr uses lasers in everything, what is to say that it isn't just a big laser shining into a gigantic prism that is causing all the EM turbulence and the "oh so pretty" lightshow. (I've seen better lightshows in Gallente nightclubs to be honest).
Conclusion, this is nothing but Amarr spreading their misinformation to lure more people into their degenerated belifs.
