Whilst i agree that in many cases it could be exceedingly difficult for the -10 folks to jump into this, not EVERY pirate out there is -10. Now i can see why folks woldn't want to get into it because of the difficulty involved.
as to the "all in one corp" thing, that's not quite what i'm talking about for wardeccs. What i'm thinking is do a pre emptive sweep a day or 2 out, collecting corp names and the systems they run for the most part. then divide the systems up amongst the corps. if a character is spotted who cannot be engaged safely by those who are in charge of the system, then the suicide gankers are called in. hence the need for as many as possible.
THAT's an easy one TBH, the tricky thing is going to be getting enough people in different time zones to effectively control the space.
as to the privateers, it'd be verra nice to have them in on this whole deal. it'd be a huge timesaver and all around help with this.
as far as the cost of wardeccs goes, i'd do as much as possible to mitigate this, but realistically it's probably 750-800 mil to do it.
edit @ gnarl, yeah, i'm trying to find an actual effective way to prevent this from becoming a scam. the honor system may come into play. the problem ios that we need an effective way to track how much we have in total ransom/

i'm in... sounds like loads of fun..
only problem i see with this plan is that whenever a suicide ganker has been used, he's not able to get into jita anymore. Which would mean that if people just undocked a few times, we would run out of gankers.
so i must admit i don't see it working fully...
but it would be fun to be making history... those who held jita captive for ransom...

First off this plan is completely ridiculous and almost doomed to catastrophic failure if it even gets to the planning stages (which I doubt it will) let alone if it gets to all out war.
Second, Im in

Won't work because people will still be able to get through in cloakers, inties, frigs, shuttles, and pods.
And eventually, a GM would come by to break up the camps.

This plan is just full of awesome. Ludicrous? Yes. Suicidal? Definitely! But awesome nonetheless.
I'm definitely in. Being the relative noob I am, I still have yet to reach the coveted -10 sec status  so it won't be too much trouble for me. Is there an ingame channel for this? If not, it might be a good idea to make one... helpful for hammering out the finer points of the plan and coordinating the attack.

Yes, it's going to be a ROYALK pain in the butt, yes, there are MASSIVe logistics problems, but i really think if we all put our heads (read: guns) together we'll be able to at least make a significant impact.

What if all those people get into their kessies (heck, even Ibises (Ibii?) would be good enough)? You'll need ALOT more than 150 men... Think more like 1500-2500

Nah, they should be fine with 150-200.
There are generally between 400-700 people in Jita at any one time. Let's say 1000 just to be safe.
If you've got 1000 kestrels against 200 gank ships, which are dropping like flies due to CONCORD, you're still ok. Why?
When you see a kessie coming in that isn't allied with you, just target it. It'll start shooting, due to carebear-inexperience-panic-mode, and get popped by CONCORD.
Also let's not forget that if anyone comes out in a respectable ship to fight you, the kessie blob will attack it thinking it's one of you. Thus they all get wtfpwned by CONCORD and chaos ensues.
Man I wish I could be there. Unfortunately I'm too low to get back up without doing 0.0 time and I can't do that right now.

This is a terrible plan and you'll never get close to enough people.
About the money, you mean 150-300b in total for all the industrialists? how do you communicate this to all of them and have 700 odd people collect this money up in some way for the alt.....

I would say that it'd be a good idea to try to simply lock down jita, which due to the what 7 or 8 gates in the system would be hard enough. Maybe spread it all out a few systems but seriously controlling an entire high sec region via wardec's and suicides would be incrediably difficult. Especially since any alliance/corp that contemplated paying the ransom would rethink it because once the bills start coming in on those war decs you will lose members of your Jita Lockdown Fleet. Before long with no traffic in Jita and maybe a couple days every one would start heading back home to their 0.0 / lowsec business.
All the Alliances would see that your force probably could hold Jita for a week or so, but they'll lose interest and move on. "We Did It" and then back to business as usual. Great idea though and I'd come for the fun of it, but RL has my offline a lot these days.
Good luck to all who participate. I'd love to see some fraps of 4-4 when the smartbombs go off. If you pull it off rock on. And keeping the different people involved in different corps/alliances is a good idea because the targets won't be able to war dec all of you if they decide to try to take Jita back.

While to some this sounds like a crazy idea people have to remember the Privateers started from an idea and Infinity Ziona putting up the isk to war dec some alliances.
This is a different concept but also a good idea. Though I have a few points to make.
1) Smartbombs cannot be set off within 5km of a gate or station. However, smartbombs are not the only suicide weapon.
2) It's good that would be scouts monitoring the corps going in and out as there are a large number of corps permanently docked in jita so no point decing them.
3) I would recommend having a "special operations" team which takes advantage of the stupidity of people and lead them into being ganked by whatever game mechanics or otherwise.
4) There are a large number of freighters in noob corps which are "untouchable" so you would need a freighter ganking team to stop inter-region traders.
5) For the suicide gankers there will be a problem with sec status so you may have to allow enough downtime for people grind some sec status.
6) While this is planned as a one off event why not consider following up with a corp to continue to inflict damage.
Just a few ideas nothing more.
