I don't care what fancy names or development approach is done. As long as Chaos resides on a single machine and not an architecture similar to TQ, and as long as big features are not properly tested (as by professional testers) these big patches are going to present huge problems.
Anyways, maybe I'm just biased cause my agent missions jumped the shark while other people got oodles of goodies due to bugs.

Edited by: Kor Kolom on 21/12/2003 05:57:12 Edited by: Kor Kolom on 21/12/2003 05:55:34 M8 and i speak from experience-this is the first game for me from a long line of online games who when it patches ,it does it all at once.
the prob most plp have is that they didnt know what changes would be happening, oh and any who comes and says that the changes have been on chaos and any1 could have checked them out is a fool.
when u have a server with a 50 plp limit on it not every1 can get on to see the changes-the only way i got on was to wait after the end of down time and log the sec the servers were back online.
well not all plp can do that. Also PLP HATE CHANGE- if they had gone with this patch in little increments it would have been fine because plp would have had time to adapt, be cause as i said THIS is the first online game from all of the other1s that i played that did such a big patch at 1 time.
sry for that long post BUT - lets say that today a pack of smokes costs 3Dolars in US, and tomorow when u wake up it still costs 3 but its in Euros and there seems that no1 has any Euros for u to get and all packs are missing. |

Yes Kor I tried desperately to get into test server also, no luck. Some guys say information is on the forums, I read a list of changes on the eve-i website and some more. Nothing that contained information about what I have encountered. Dolares vs Euro - yeah it might have been unintentional but that applies in more ways than you might have thought. Just to mention one thing, agents ask for more valume of stuff which have depleted NPC stocks of items completely in just a few days. Buying now at player prices is completely counterproductive.
'Could we get the NPC market back ASAP?!'

Agree that it's a lot better with many smaller patches than a few huge ones, but what I miss most is, as most other games usaully have, a read.me file installed with the patch that lists all changes and explains new or big changes so ppl know what to expect. As it is now u have to read at so many places and listen to so many ppl that it's more confusing than helping (at least for me .. might be to old for this )

Nice link you have there BUT my point was that those changes should have been wrighten b4 the the patch came out.
Also whose changes are fine if 80% of them werent buged, now i understand that those changes were tested on chaos BUT testing those changes on 50plp is verry diff from testing it on 5000plp.
My only beef is that they should have done the patch over 2 week so plp would adapt to the changes. When u changes something that every1 thinks is the truth overnight , are u really surprised when plp rebel to the change.
Now sorry to brake from the subject but i HATE plp who call others WHINNERS because they dont agree with them. I can bet money that every1 on this planet will rant whine about something at some given time.
