I think Battleships are losing their position of main ship in a battle.
It costs to much to equip them (100m for the ship + 100m for guns + few more mil for other equipment) but they die to fast.
Other thing is capital ships are taking over battlefield (mix of carriers and dreads). Why? They dont die so fast so are better ships for fleet fight.
I think i can predict that in near future battlefields will consist mostly of carriers + frig support called now 'fighter bombers' + dreads as heavy hitters + command ships as bonus ships (maybe, dunno) and interdictors as target holders.
My question now. Where is the place for battleships?
Discuss pls.

They are good as a sniper, price of Tech II guns has fallen a lot recently. Probably more once Invention takes effect.
They are one of the main things to counter BS heavy fleets. Frigates handling fighters is a good tactic, but if you have a friendly POS, you can warp to it to counter fighters.
Capital Ships are so expensive to loose, and yes they are used in fleet combat, but as soon as they loose their support fleet, they are vulnerable.
Planning, Stategy and Tactics can help you defeat someone who overly relies on their Capitals to take the field.
Choosing where and when to fight is key. |

I thought this was about tier 2 batlecruisers almost being tier 1 battleships
battleships will always be usable... they are much cheaper than carriers (which cannot go higher than 0.5, and even if battleships will not be the primary ships of a fleet they will always be there to support and defend the capitals (by sniping and doing logistics). Besides carriers are not really able to "fly with the fleet" as they are using cyno fields and hence will not be ready the moment your fleet ends up with a hostile fleet.
I do agree capitals are pretty common and is involved in any major conflicts around fixed systems... - I'm a nice guy!! and OMG I love Team Tuxford for the speedbalancing... |

425mm rails + 1400 arties will go down. After that ppl start using them more again. There are cycles in eve IMO. LIke after Kali everyone was using The new ships. Allmost all other ships went down in prices.
