Are they bugged or what ? It seems they cant hit anything except structures, they didnt even once scratch Battlecruiser in few minutes.

Thats odd, I would say just get some of the skills up for your drones, and you can also try fitting a Drone Link Augmentors, they increase drone optimal range and tracking speed.
Another bit which I know a few people have missed on is that the sentry drones all have varying ranges and tracking speeds. the lowest range one being the Garde but it has a very nice tracking speed.

Edited by: Elain Reverse on 19/03/2007 14:23:55 Drone link augmentor increase only drone control range, there is other modul for drone tracking tho, but for medslot whitch i need for tank Definetly something wrong with them because they dont hit even not moving ship (initial atack - shud have no tracking problems) if its not big as BS. So only what they are able hit is BS and structures whitch are not mooving at all => not worth to use them. I will try other type too, but dont see it muuch optimistic.

Support them with Omnidirectional traking links and drone augmentator links, and maybe....skills, skils, and some skills.
btw, wardens opt+falloff is higher than you drone control range with max skills, that what the link augs is for.
Sentry drons 3/4, drone interfacing V and some modules, and they do their job. Heavies might be better, especially with T2 Ogres, but .... yes, sometimes they are the right tool for the right task.

Go to the test server, try to get all your skills boosted to lvl 5 and try them out with a moros. You will like the result.
For all other purposes, use ogre IIs. ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |

i've used them in my archon quite a bit. 13 gardes normally insta pop frigs approaching u but remember it's still about transveral so depends how they are approaching u. but yeah they do work very well. drone interfacing, the sentry drone skills itself and supporting drone skills are very important to using them tho.

Sentry drones rock when you get your drones skills up good ways (Drone Interfacing V). Use Quickfit to determine damage and range. Damage falls between tech II and tech I heavies. With a couple of damage augmentor rigs, they hit nearly as hard as heavy IIs. And that is instant damage, dont have to wait for drones to travel to target (rigs reported to be fixed in upcoming patch tomorrow).
Omni-directional tracking mods are a must, I use 3. With Garde's, my optimal is out to 41.4km and have track at 0.052 rad/sec. I still have trouble hitting anything under 15km with a high transversal. But for everthing else, it chews right thru them. Quickfit gives me a raw 340 thermal dps estimation based on my current skills.
One other surprise for me with Sentrys: Wardens do considerably more damage and have better tracking then a TechII fitted Megathron with 425 IIs. The only tradeoff is reduced range: 124km Optimal vs 188km (Spike L). Tracking: 0.021 vs 0.006 Requires 4 Omnis in the mids. I look forward to boosting the Sentry dps 15% more with 2 Sentry damage rigs .
Caveats: my drone skills are higher than my gunnery skills and I usually work in gangs.
