how do i change update or even access my forum profile?

What is a "forum profile"?
There isn't much information visible about characters via the forums, the best you can do is click your character portrait on the post or go via "My Character" on the left.

what i mean is attaching sigs showing corp and alliance and such stuff

When your logged in to the forum, if you look under the forum button on the left you will see a new option called settings. From there you can change the settings for any of your chars on this account, ie. show your corp/race, add a signature, things like that.

Yea, the char switch is annoying, gotta remember too look what char your gonna be posting with, (you can see this above the 'post reply' button when you type your post.

you can also select a default char to post with
Easy Target is the second on this account, as he is set at default it saves me posting with a none descript alt. :)
