Gallente there ships are ok for small gang but trash in the end. The other races are better for solo / fleet fights. This is assuming pirate factions are not affected. |

That's easy. Bye bye Caldari boats.
Missiles take toooooooo daaaaamn loooooong to reload. That and the whole 'polygons glomped together, dunked in battleship blue/grey paint' doesn't help them with an appearance appeal. Strangely enough, none of my fave pirate ships call for Caldari skills either. So losing them won't break my clones' hearts.

Don't want to give up Caldari because they have the Falcon. I guess I'd give up Minimatar and never fly a Machariel ever again. Not too crazy about that either though, but I don't own a Mach right now, so F it. |

As much as the Legion Curse and the Sac tickle my fancy, I would probably give the Amarr ship line up. Most of their ship lines have substitutes that the other races can supply not to the same levels but well enough, like a neut domi.

Caldari. Just don't like toting the missile boats. You'd have to pry Minmatar from my cold, dead, Amarrian hands. Trust the Rust. |

Gallente.
Minmatar: Too many ships I like the look of, it would hurt to lose them. Caldari: I'm actually flying a lot of Caldari-ships, so that would hurt too. Amarr: Minmatar and Caldari mixed, would hurt the most.
Gallente only has a couple ships I like and I don't like them enough to actually fly them. The Thorax and its derivative hulls are really the only ship I ever liked, but after the many redesigns it has kind of fallen to the wayside. So if I were forced to abandon the ships of one main faction, it would be Gallente.

For overal functionality probably Gallente. Combination of hybrid weapons and drone platforms makes them a pretty solid all-round choice me thinks.

We were stating the one race we would DROP, not the one we would keep right? |

Started out Minmatar and I LOOOOOVE my Hurricane. Went into wormholes and found the love of Amarr ships. Did FW and discovered the love of the Maulus.
Caldari. Even my love of the Ferox won't save it...
This would cure me of the fear...

Boo. Ships were cooler when they were asymmetrical and had flair. Now they're homogenized deviantART art.
Nothing wrong with a sizable group of people unhappy with content letting their sub lapse for a week to demonstrate this. I think it is in everyone's interest to send a message, rather than let enough straws build up to break the camel for good.

You're all messed up, like the old art. The new ship redesigns are pure improvement. |

Tough choice. I find myself in all the races boats constantly depending on role. Plus the use of Pirate faction ships makes it affect more than just that one racial ship tree. I could probably live the easiest without Amarr, despite really liking their ships. I can think of a different race to use in any given role that I would need Amarr.

Probably Caldari.
Maybe Minmatar.
Unlikely to give up on Amarr. Confessor, ONI, Curse; too many ships I really like. (Plus it would lock out SoE ships, **** that).
I could never give up Gallente. The Tristan is my one true love. |

Caldari. No question. This empire really grinds my gears, sticks in my craw, chaps my hide, scorches my anus without relent, etc.
1) no doctrine focused around Caldari ships is any fun to fly except for 100km troll-Crows IMO
2) least optimized slot layout for small-gang or solo PvP, except for some of the Amarr ships
3) middling PvE. IMO you can't point to the low skill floor of Drakes and Ravens, because those skills don't transfer to the better PvE ships from other empires that need higher skills to start using effectively
4) if I permanently give up spaceship command skills for Caldari then I also lose access to Sansha and Gurista ships, which I do happen to like and it'd make me upset to not be able to use them, and for this I blame the Caldari too.
5) least developed lore IMO, which isn't really in the scope of this discussion, but is also of concern.

As it stands: Minmatar, sadly. It got hit so hard with the 7 year rebalance pendulum swing a couple of years ago it still hasn't recovered. Caldari has over the years actually gained a lot. |
