When you're new to the game, and begin to run missions, you're just about competent in finding a solar system via the people&places tab. You are also, because of not wanting to go to nasty scary places where horrid evil player pirates hang out, almost certainly hanging around near one of the major capital systems.
This creates a problem when your agent sends you to deliver something in one of the capital systems, because most of the planets in those systems have special names, rather than simply being "Amarr X" or "Luminaire VIII". A great many newcomers to agent missions find themselves being told to deliver to, for example, "Oris - Emperor Family Academy" and are stumped, because a search for Oris says there is no solar system by that name.
Here's the key. If the destination name includes a roman numeral (Squeegle VI - Moon 4 - Lai Dai Factory), then Squeegle is a system, and you are going to planet VI. If the name does NOT include a roman numeral (Quirkafleeg - Imperial Navy Logistics Support), then Quirkafleeg is a planet.
In either event, you can find the station by doing a search, not for the solarsystem, but for the station name, and typing in "Squeegle VI" or "Quirkafleeg" as necessary. The point is that if you only have the planet name, this is your *only* option for searching, and it's the one that most players do not usually use. It would be wise if you were to get into the habit of using the station search for missions, at least until you are familiar enough with the game to know where all the named planets are off the top of your head.
IMHO we could do with this being stickied to the top of the forum. It crops up a lot.

True in what ur saying.
But....
If u look at the detailed mission briefing in the mission journal, under the objectives heading it does give more details on where u should be heading

I know it used to: it appears that some missions don't give that extra information any more.

Good post, there are quite a few "named" planets that cause people problems. Someething like this should be made sticky or added to a general agent FAQ.

Hi Baldour,
You've made some great posts the past few days.
I'll disagree with you a little bit on this though. I've never seen a mission description that didn't say something like "**station info**, in the **so and so system**". It's that last part that tells the system that is useful to focus on in my opinion.
Finally, one tip that I hope everybody knows about is the ability to highlight text in the detailed mission descriptions, and then copy that text to the clipboard (I always right click and hit "copy" to do this, but I think CTRL-C also works every time).
After copying the system name, it can be pasted in the search box in either your people and places window (remember to set it for "solarsystems" in that case), or the big map. I like using the big map because I can see the detailed breakdown of the trip, and can decide if I'll be able to conduct other business on the trip.

If that's true, then you're right: I've heard people say that they have missions that don't include that any more. I haven't bothered looking at mine, because I know where I'm going anyway.

Baldour is right--I've actually had several missions telling me to go to Caldari Prime.
Luckily I have enough experience to know that Caldari Prime is in Luminaire.

I just completed a mission to Caldari Prime - no solarsystem mentioned. Seems to be a new thing.
