I get the same problem. Trying to run 2 clients and one will die. It did happen pre-Castor, but is much worse post-Castor.

I've had this same problem but thought I was the only person. I was running to events on one pc, a miner constantly mining, and my main running errands for agents. Suddenly I see one of my chars logs off. He went away, CTD random.
I reboot restart get in game, it CTD's again. This has only happened since shortly after the patch before Castor. I used to never have the problems. "I can only take so much before I'll blow up my own ship. Hey isn't that what insurance is for?"

I run 2 accounts on 2 computers and have NO problems other than my router drops my connections sometimes whenever it needs to refresh my IP address leases cuz I use DHCP.
Me thinks you need to get a 2nd computer and then don't bother with a router to share the one IP address - use Windows 2000 and turn on Network Connection sharing; Win2K has a built-in router. I was able to even share a 56k dial-up among 3 computers and it did work albeit a little slowly.

It's not a need for a second computer... When I first got my second account and for two months after I constantly ran both clients on the same PC and never noticed anything, no lag, no drop, just pure fun play.
My second computer is two slow and the gfx card will not play eve so i only have one to play on. So now I have to divert time between clients when I pay for a month, but only getting half a month out of the character due to some "unknown" change that occured in the previous patch before Castor. My problem did not start until after THAT patch and has occurred ever since.
Does Polaris/GM read these and investigate at all?

If you want to run 2 account at the same time on the same computer you have to turn on "sun is ocluded by ship" if you want it to run. Otherwise one EVE is going to crash al the time.

I run 2 accounts from the same PC at the same time with no problems.
I have 'sun occluded' turned off. I run both acounts in windowed mode.
My PC specs are: Pentium 4 2.8GHz 1GB DDR RAM 128MB Geforce 5600 On board sound card
I only have one installation of EVE on my PC and run both accounts from that.

What exactly is the occluding mean? "I can only take so much before I'll blow up my own ship. Hey isn't that what insurance is for?"

Oh great suggestion: the non occlusion worked. I don't know how those got turned on but now I can run both clients at once! "I can only take so much before I'll blow up my own ship. Hey isn't that what insurance is for?"

Edited by: Azyla on 25/12/2003 22:35:08 Like Eltigre I run 2 accounts on 2 computers and same ISP line (Cablemodem on internal network) and has very few problems. But two times it has gotten me confused, both my chars was in same system and suddenly 1 of them CTD and a window pops up saying the nod when down? For only one of them, how can that be? No problem to log on again tho..
