Iv got a lvl3 Research agent working in the field of Quantum Physics. His reqiurments are Quantum Physics 2. Agent quality is 15, effective quality is 25.
Iv trained Quantum Physics to lvl 3, i also have Social 4, Negotiation 2, Connections 2.
Now i need help on what i should train next, it will take appox 8 days to get quantum physics to lvl4.
I know that the amount of RP u earn per day is worked out using your agents effective quality and your specific research skill lvl.
So i wanted to know if training the other social skills will make a difference. or i should just go ahead and train quantum physics to lvl 4.
Or is there a formaula anywhere that shows how "effective quality" is calculated.
(On a side not does the skill "Reseach" make any difference to your RP/day?)
Please, someone clear this up for me.

Only way to increase rp/hour with 1 agent is to increase your sci lvl more, or find an agent with lvl3 quantum physics (its dependant on yours+the skill lvl of the agent, so using an agent with lvl3 would be the same as training it up another lvl). You can also increase your standing with the corp/faction since that slightly alters the ammount of rp gotten.
And from what i see the missions ive gotten from my research agent havent yielded any increase in standing with him, so you cant increase the effective standing. -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs

the RP formula is :
1 + (EQ/100) * (Agent skill in the field + Your skill in the field)^2 * Research Field Bonus.
Meaning an agent of EQ 0, agent skill2, your skill3, research field bonus 2: 1 + (0/100) * (2+3)^2 * 2 = 50 RP/day Your case, EQ 25: 1.25*25*2 = 75 RP/day.
Training Negotiations 1 level increase EQ 5 pts. Increasing standing seems to increase EQ at another formula, which i dont have by hand. Increasing your skill level in the field is the most effective way of increasing RP/day output.

Negotiations increases the speed at which the corp standing rises with each mission (mission worth x skill mod (mission worth is dependant on the base worth of a mission and the effective quality of the agent, dont know the exact formula)), right? It doesnt magically improves your standing, also its only applicable to the standings of a corp for agent rating there is social...
negotiations 0.4 Bonus to effective standing towards friendly NPC Corporations. -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs

Negotiation skill directly improves the Effective Quality of your agent...thereby influencing all of those other factors *except* standing requirements.
Connections skill is the one that deals with your standings.

Thanks, that what i needed to know, so it would seem its worth me training that up to lvl3 at least.

the EQ doesnt effect the daily RP's that much when compared to the boost u get from learning another lvl in quantum physics.
What i want to know is if your research agent has 3 skills, and u have 2 out of the 3 skills also trained up to the same lvl as his skills, can u train them both with him, or can u still only train in 1 area?

Effective quality can give you up to a 50% boost in rp's a day, before they are multiplied with any race bonus. A negative EQ can also *reduce* your rp's per day....
You can only direct an agent's research in one area. Any other research skills you possess are irrelevant to that agent and the bp's that can be obtained via that agent.

There's nothing in this formula about agent level? Surely this has some effect? Otherwise a good level 1 R&D agent would be better than my not-very-good level3 guy.
Edit: I thought of a possible answer to my own question. Presumably, only level 3 agents will ever have a research skill to level 3, and lvl1 agents won't ever have better than level 1. My level 3 agent does have level 3 of the skill i'm researching, so I get a higher number for the second part of the formular.
Am I right?

Just an update, i trained negotiation to lvl3 and my agents EQ went up to 20 and RP increased by 1.25 pts. So it does work

Jep tried it as well, hmm i thought increased pay out wouldnt be be accomplished through upping the eq of the agent with that skill ahwell... -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs
