Most of you are overcomplicating this a lot
Not everyone selling on the market is a hardcore trader looking for maximized profits, some are just regular guys like me wanting to ditch an item and get the cash by yesterday, so we cba to fiddle with 0.01 isk or whatnot
I want the money bad, and I'm out to minimize time before the cash comes. (ofc we still like getting a price the same order of magnitude you guys do, so no selling to "10%-of-value-buy-orders"). If its a couple 100k less, i dont care, i dont have the time.
Simple as that.

Very well said. This is often overlooked in this kind of discussion.

Just FYI, you cannot choose which order to buy from. You always get the goods from the cheapest seller, but pay the price of the order you chose.
oh yes you can, you go to the advanced market tab and pick the price you want to buy at,

I hate undercutting, reduces profit for both of us. i price match first, most of the time the other seller is happy with that and it's pot luck who gets the sale, but we both get sales. 0.1 undercutting is for the most part useless, nobodys going to move 1 station let alone a few jumps to save 0.1isk (unless maybe your buying 100m trit or something). If the other seller is happy with the price match, all well and good, if they want to push me, i push back ;) i'll usually round down to the nearest 10/100/100 etc rather than stupid 0.1, besides usually have about 100 orders out, and typing 24500000 is much easier than typing 24519999.98 lol
Buyers tend to not want to move, if they are in a station and can buy what they want, even at (a surprisingly) higher amount, they will, i have a couple of spots where my stuff sells for 1-2mill more despite being undercut 1 jump away , because i know my station is popular and others sell there so must peeps can restock most of their needs from that station.
personally i try to avoid buying from 0.1 undercutters, as they are just annoying, cant say i never do, but given the choice i wont.

I returned to game in last week and as a mission runner ive always had large quantities of items value 500k-10mil.
Since i played last prices on various items have changed considerably and i must admit i've unloaded many at vastly reduced prices in rens with 1 day orders.
This was to clear excess items, maximise use of limited sell orders and create a small petty cash fund.
I am pleasantly surprised that the limit on sell orders now has somewhat stabilised the market compared to what it has been in past.

Producers dont tend to keep undercutting the market, they tend to go for a stable price and just stick with it realizing that the low orders in small quantites will simply get bought up quickly and then their goods will be bough for the normal price.
If you have alot of extra crap sitting around in your hangar collecting dust and you need to make some quick ISK for something then undercutting the market by enough that will not get someone to undercut you is a good way to sell alot of crap quick.
For example when i moved out to 0.0 I sold all my stuff extremely cheap because I did not want to deal with Sell orders and Items on opposite sides of eve at the same time. ------------------------------- C.D's Formula for success ------------------------------- Credit Card = Game Time Card Gametime Card = ISK Therefore Credit Card = ISK.
