Friend and I just tried to do Worlds Collide for the first time after the patch. I joined him in the second stage, the Blood side, and he engaged the enemy. He engaged the first instant aggro group and then the other group with the Harbingers.
very quickly his Ishtar is gone, and he says was drained. Soon the ships turn on me in my Absolution, as I am trying to kill the scrambling frigates now surrounding me. My tank is fine, cap is holding...
When the first Harbinger gets within 20km my Capacitor is quickly nose diving toward 0. Luckily I had killed the frigates and was able to warp out.
Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone seen this from a different Blood BS or other class of ship in a mission. I know they do it in 0.0.
Beware of this, adapt and prepare for it.

wow. Someone reported that you also now get damped a lot more than pre-patch from the mission rats. And that the guristas are using EW a lot more also. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many |

sounds like a more PvP style of combat is being added to PvE missions. Aside from the extra variety, I'd guess there will be a benefit to this as mission running setups are going to be a bit closer to PvP setups. Should mean that when mission runners have to go to low sec for future missions they will not be totally vulnerable if ganked.

I did 'Silence the Informant' last night. The Mercenary room had multiple spider drones that I don't ever remember seeing before. They definately had me webbed down pretty hard but I didn't try to warp so I don't know if I was scrambled or not.

As far as I can tell, post patch i'm getting damped and jammed alot more, and it's the tougher (larger) rats that are doing it too, so you can't just smartie the frigs and be ok. ---

I always had 4 spider drones there. Corpmate of mine reported that Bloodraiders in The Blockade also use Nos heavily now.

Bloodraiders have been nossing for ages, but nothing to worry about, maybe they boosted their nossing skills
Anyways it sounds like a little more spice in missions post patch.

Quote: Numerous NPCs missile and effect range problems have been resolved. The orbit range is no longer greater than the effect/missile range.
Alot of ships had stuff like NOS or EWAR but never used it because they orbited outside the actual usage range. That was noticeable before the patch when you jumped onto a group and get nossed, but after they ran away to their orbit range they stopped doing it. I believe the list is already a few patches old, but i think the effects are still correct: http://eveinfo.com/npcships/603/eve-online-deadspace-blood-raiders-battleship.html -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com Evewide Market-Info: http://eve-central.com/ |

Corpus Harbinger old stats:
[...] Orbit range: 17,000m Orbit velocity: 140m/s Maximum velocity: 280m/s
Radar Sensor Strength: 32 points
NPC uses Energy Vampires: Yes Chance: 25% Amount Drained: 350 unit(s) (35 units/second) Max. Range: 10km Duration: 10 second(s) [...]
That is almost one Heavy Nos on you if the range is now fixed. Baaaaad news indeed :( Good thing I don't do missions for a few days after any patch... --------- There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Kestrel

With any luck they'll get hit by the nos nerf soon.
And come packing neuts.

Yeah last night I was doing a mission - Massive attack I think it was... some sansha one anyway, and I noticed that some of the frigs were nossing me!
I was like WTF!?? cos my tank depends on my cap being steady at no less than 38% (below that, it starts to fail, very slowly).
But it's good. It adds more challenge :)

Edited by: Ashira Twilight on 21/03/2007 23:13:02 I've been doing level 4 missions since last spring/summer and a blood raider rat has NEVER nossed me. The belt rats have always used nos/cap destabilizers afaik, experienced this months ago while screwing around in 0.0.
Also, I've done several guristas missions since the latest patch, and the only one I have had a problem with ewar with, has been Pirate Assault. The first room was normal, but the second roomw as a nightmare. I felt like I was being jammed by two scorps with 8 racials. I'm not kidding, after I got aggro from the whole pocket, I didn't get a lock on anything for 5+ minutes in my CNR. At this point I warped out and came back in and managed to split the spawns up a little.
Even after I did this, I was jammed waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more often than I should by the elite cruisers. I took me 10 minutes to kill 3 cruisers in a single spawn(were like 2-4 bs and the 3 elite cruisers). As far as I could tell, the battleships' jammers were normal as I was only jammed a couple times by them during that mission.
PS Harbinger rats now? Cool. =) I want tier 3 BS rats! ------------------------------- The opinions reflected in this post DO reflect the opinions of my corp...of one guy and a bunch of alts. |

I never noticed it until i ran a perma boosting setup with 3 flux coils. I'm willing to argue if it was nos or neut, but no like that makes any difference. In any case, blood raider rats in missions drained cap even before this patch. -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com Evewide Market-Info: http://eve-central.com/ |

I like the idea of NPCs with EW, but does it work properly on them yet?
IIRC damps don't work properly on NPCs and NOS doesn't stop them using cap.

its not possible to do missions in PVP setup and even more for Shieldtanks. Overal DPS on missions are more then before, add some EW and drone agro and its like missions are now like 10 times harder with all those added stuff.

I just finished the Cargo Delivery (Serpentis) where you are supposed to find a warehouse and grab some Quaffe Ultra to return with.
Upon entry there is only one can there with the loot in it (warehouse type so no tractor beam)
Off course as you grab the Quaffe the Serpentis spawn. Few BS, one frigate and a few BC/Elite cruisers. Very nice mission and reason I reply here is they also use ewar. Pretty serious damping, enough that I lost lock quite a few times.
Very nice new mission!

Last night i had to quit running mission due to losing cap recharged all the time. I never run out of caps before the patch. Last night was different, same settings but I seemed to use alot than before and my chargers arent holding well. I decide to play FF12 instead.
