Edited by: Zenoxio on 22/03/2007 03:36:51 In the second mission (Avenge a fallen comrade), I've taken out all enemies except one "Corpii Diviner" which has a high threat level. I've already bought a new ship, but I can't take out this enemy (I've tried). At first I thought I wasn't suppose to, but I guess I am? Any suggestions?
Like, what's a good weapon I should buy to replace the one you're given?
Oh, and I'm having a very hard time telling apart commans and periods (mainly in currency), is there any way to fix this?

What ship did you purchase?
If you "Show Info" the ship, it will tell you what (if any) bonuses it may have for certain weapons on it.
If you're still using the Civilian guns, it's definitely time to upgrade them if you can. Since different ships are often suited for different turrets, it's difficult to suggest a setup without knowing shiptype.
There's also a sticky-thread in the "Ships & Modules" forum, if you want to see a variety of options for many ships & purposes. _______

Since you have a Condor, I would suggest you use the 3 High slots for 125mm Rail Gun and 2 Standard Launchers. I use in my launchers, Bloodclaw and Flameburst. I would also replace anything that has "civilian" in the name. Get yourself a Shield Booster 1 and maybe a shield hardener or an Afterburner... But the gun with the 2 launchers and the new shield booster should get you through any lvl 1 mission, except 'Worlds Collide.'

Level 2 missions are offered by level 2 agents.
You'll have done loads of level 1 missions by then.

The condor has
3 high slots = 1 turret = 2 launchers
2 meds
1 low
So for high slots: get 2 standard missile launchers and use "bloodclaw" missiles. Get the skills for them
Medium slots 1 x small shield booster I 1 x cap recharger I
Low slots 1 x power diagnostic
All that will fit
You are using bloodclaw because they are the missiles that do kinetic damage and reading the description of the condor, you get a bonus per caldari frigate level of 5% damage for kinetic missiles
Condor is nice. It is a fast ship, but not very strong. Dont be scared of warping out if you get in trouble. You can set your auto pilot out of system then just hit the auto pilot button and that will warp u out of the mission if u get in trouble.
The kestrel is the next ship up from a condor (4 launchers as opposed to the condors 2)
The merlin is the other top frigate for the caldari, but that one focuses on turrets and not missiles (damage bonus to turrets)

Thanks! Any idea if there's anything I can do about the comma/period issue?
Oh and it says I need the skill Energy Grid Upgrades level 2 for the Power Diagnostic system. But I don't see that under my Skills (to learn it)...

You'll learn to live with the comma/period thing. It's standard in some countries for the commas and periods to be different to what we're used to.
As to the skills you need - you can look on the market for the required skills books and when you buy them they'll appear in your hanger (items) in the station you purchased them from. Right click the book and "train skill" it will then appear in your skills window. Be a little careful though - don't buy skills you can't train yet, they can be expensive if you've got them hanging around and can't train them. Edited by: Zenoxio on 23/03/2007 01:03:30 Thanks.
For the comma thing, I meant visually. It's hard to see visually.
Okay so for this mission, I killed that Diviner. But the mission hasn't been finished yet... all the enemy NPCs are dead... I have no idea what to do. [EDIT] Nevermind, I had to take out the Habitat. Jeez that took a while, but I got it. Thanks.

The comma thing? - you'll just have to play around with fonts. press <esc> in game and try the settings about font sizes, etc.
In missions, I find it useful to keep the journal entry open, but minimised, so I can refer back to it often. With that particular mission I remember having to go back to see which structure I was supposed to explode, as there were several other structures in the area. Edited by: Zenoxio on 23/03/2007 02:54:39 Are the 3 options the only font options at all? They don't help...
Oh yeah, what's a good way to search out pirates (that have a bounty) that I can kill?

I'm not in game right now - at work....so can't help with the font options right now.
If you just want NPC rats - get out to a system with plenty of asteroids belts (0.8 down to 0.5 security - unless you're comfortable in low-sec) and travel from belt to belt. You won't have to wait too long until the rats show up, you can kill them for a bounty and loot. Start in 0.8 and work down to be safe.
More asteroid belts means you can cycle through - by the time you get right through once - they'll be respawning in the first. Cheers Baka ______________________ Have a Skill in training every second of every day and never let your bank balance sink below your skill points. |

Realistically, you can do very few level 1 missions and train the "connections" skill up abit and you'll be in level 2s very quickly.

How long does it take to find some enemies? I've flown through all of the belts in this one system a few times and have only seen one enemy.
Oh, and is the "Threat level" relative to you? Like, would the threat level lower after you upgrade your ship?

I don't knwo what "threat lvl" you're talking about. I know different things are worth different bounties, but generally in Eve the threat lvl stays the same as does the amount of nounty things are worth. If you can kill it in your noob frigate you get the same amount as if you had destroyed it in an arch-battleship! - Damionte |

If you can't find any enemies, or it's too easy a kill, then move down one security level (e.g. from 0.8 to 0.7) until you find a comfort level. Cheers Baka ______________________ Have a Skill in training every second of every day and never let your bank balance sink below your skill points. |

I know what your talking about with the "Treat Level" unfortunately I don't have an answer. However what I have learned to do (and it is faster btw because you don't have to 'show info') is go by the amount of the bounty. Basically the higher the bounty the harder the kill and visa versa. Since you can see the bounty amount in the overview window this makes it far easier to judge the difficulty.
As far as the time it takes, the spawns are random in the ore belts. The reason to find a system with a ton of belts is so you can have plenty of them to go through, which increases your chances for a spawn. This is also beneficial when you are constantly cycling through the belts, usually the first belt will respawn by the time you get back to it.
Hope some of that helps.

Threat level is a fixed part of the description. In my opinion, it is useless. As others have said, easiest way to judge NPC strength is by the bounty.
