Before I spend the next 2 weeks training to get these, how much better are the high precision missiles at killing frigs and interceptors?
Is it really worth it?

Bear in mind that tech 2 launchers are better in all respects, other than fitting requirements, than all but arbalest launchers - and sometimes easier to get. The ROF bonus from the launchers, along with the damage bonus from the skill, is worth it in itself. ---------------------------------------------- "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."

Don't know if they'll kill an intercepter going full-tilt (3000m/s exp velocity), but if you get it when it's maneuvring you might snag it. Don't think you can use them on your own interceptor though, as they nerf your top speed. ---

When they first came out they were very good.
Then they were nerfed and were thereafter good.
Then the nano craze came about and they were pooh.
Now with the nanonerf I expect they will be good again.
Generally however bear in mind the problem is speed and not sig almost always...
Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

Thanks for your replies guys, I figure that, once I get the skill to use the speciality heavy missiles, I will be able to load the high precision ones to kill the frigs and interceptors, and then reload the high damage ones to deal with the larger stuff. Its like being able to multi task damage without having to go back to the station to refit smaller/larger launchers.
