I did not read anything about this in the patch notes, can someone confirm this? It seems that all named cap rechargers; Barton, Fixed Link, Eutectic II, etc, have been bumped down to 10% recharge bonus, the same as a Cap Recharger 1 which can be found on the market. I have 2 problems with this, if this is true.
1. I had spent several days in 0.0 farming rats for these before the patch so I could sell on market, now what I could have made about 10mil on is worth about 500k. 2. MWD cap requirement was raised, and my good rechargers now suck.
I am really tired of this nerfing. The game has been basically recreated, millions in potential isk has been taken from me, and I have to re-think outfitting my ship. It's a bummer.
A confirmation on this would be appreciated. Based on past experience, I am not going to go through the fruitless motions of filing a petition.

YAWN. Some special items are not working yet. See overdrives and nanofibers. They'll be fixed I guess. Although if you're using a midslot cap recharger you need a slap imho. |

(I'm trying to be nice here) Shut up.
They're bugged, nothing else. A few other classes of modules (overdrives, for instance) are the same, all down to the base stats.

There are reasons to use mid slot cap rechargers. Like if you've got a Mk V with Ab's on it.

Oh, there's uses for medslot cap rechargers for sure. U can keep firing them large shield boosters a bit longer with those, without the shield recharge penalty relay's give.

Err, oh yeah that's a good point. I completely forgot how much that makes sense. Completely. Com-pletely. For-got. |

Med Cap rechargers Rule. I put 6 in Scorp along with 4 Cap Relays in Bottom slots. My cap recharge is 158 seconds. Which means I can run Xlarge Shield Booster and EM Ward for a very long time. I can run the new 100MN MWD for a few minutes this way to. Of course I only use this loadout when I am traveling and think I might be getting jumped along the way.

Isn't it better to have a hardener on for the slot space? Better yet, some EW? --

Edited by: Stepping Razor on 22/12/2003 17:46:43 Granted, they were pointless before the patch, but mid slot cap rechargers are VERY handy since patch. Most indys now only have grid for 2 10MN ABs, so you have 1-4 un-used mid slots. Same with Frigates, running a Vigil or Griffin with a MWD and an AB you have 1 or 2 free mid slots (travel config).
Low slot 20% cap relays are fine for PvP/PvE, but for travelling nothing speeds up a ship like an ODs or Nanos, so I ain't going to waste a low slot on a relay. Try various configs, the 5 to 15% cap recharge bonus is helpful given the propulsion nerfs and the small cap on a frigate (especially for long warps).
Smart travel configs now include mid slot cap chargers and most/all low slots with ODs or Nanos. I am sure as has been said the current situation with some loot modules is a bug, and I can't wait for my good cap chargers to do more than 5% again....

Ok I'll bite. Using midslot cap recharger modules to support your large/xlarge shield booster config seems silly - using a pair of shield boost amplifers appears a lot more efficient to me- both in terms of rate of shield boosting and capacitor usage. |

Im guessing they set a number of theese items back to a baseline and need individual loving/nerfing to get them where they want. Probably a stop-gap measure to get Castor out the door quick. Further evidence Castor was rushed out and pretyt much borked.

Ive always used mid slot cap rechargers...but only fb10 or better. to me, 1 or 2 in mid slots make big difference in using large or better shield booster AND cap heavy weps. Course that was prepatch when i was using mega beams on my megathron. Not as big a reason to use em now since patched helped large hybrids...
