Same, but another turret instead of the nos.
Not a terribly flexible ship is the Brutix. ---

absolute cookie cutter setup there but there's a reason for that. u need those 4 mids really. that tank imo is the best way to most utilize the ships bonus and passive resists are real nice and decent structure so always want a dmg ctrl. so for me the highs are the only thing i change. go all blasters if u want but the nos is nice to have so just fit the best blasters u can.
drones u can change tho if u want. 5 hammie II's is kinda standard but 5 medium ecm drones can be really effective. as can different ewar drones.

great ship .. you wont be able to fit 6 ions + 2 medium reps + a medium cap injector + mwd though, so you will want electrons for this setup
i prefer ecm drones myself, but they are slow as s**t

thats a winner right there... throw in ecm drones and go have some fun (sensor damping drones suck before you try though) valks or hammers IIs are always good too for the extra damage ---------------

More ganking setup than tank
5x electron II's 2x Ion II's
t2 warp disruptor, med cap booster w/ 800 charges, sensor booster, 10mn mwd
2x MAR II's, dcu II, 2x mag stab II's
5x valkerie II's
I love mine just setup a few nights ago but works good

Actually, I find that the brutix has the most trouble with smaller ships. I always use 10 Warrior II`s. Eats frigs and destroyers for lunch. Else my setup is pretty much the same as above: electron II`s, mwd, web, inj, scram, 2 MAR, explosive membrane II, EANMII, Damage control II
Rigs I usually go 2 cap rigs and 1 rep amount rig.
Real in-your-face setup with a decent tank, but I`d think twice before engaging a drake or myrm in it...

Edited by: ImmortalisMyst on 07/08/2007 11:15:27 This ship is a gank ship, and imo works much better as one than a tank/electron/ion setup. If, like some of the people above, you can afford to rig it try the following:
Highs: 7 heavy neutron w/antimatter Mid: 10mn mwd, web, warp disrupter, cap booster w/800 Low: medium Rep, DCU, 3x mag stabs.
(use tech2/best named where possible)
drones: 5x hammerhead t2
3 powergrid rigs
damage output is insane

with am and max skills i get 585 dps off the guns with antimatter using 7x heavy neutron t2 and 3x damage mods. by comparison a myrmiddon with 5 t1 ogre's and a full rack of electrons does 576 dps. after fitting an mwd to the myrmiddon you have 700 grid left to fit a tank. the brutix doesnt even have the grid to fit that.
Tbh dont bother with a brutix and go straight for the myrmiddon while it's not nerfed.

Edited by: Rooker on 07/08/2007 14:07:30 Yeah... There seems to be really only 2 set-ups for a Brut, 2mar or 1mar. Or 3 setups if you try sniping with T2 rails.
This fit put a nice big dent in the side of a blasterdomi before 6 of his buddies did bad things to it. I'd have still killed him if it hadn't been for the Neutronthron that LOLed at my armor.
Medium Armor Repairer II Damage Control II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II x 2
Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I 10MN MicroWarpdrive II X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator Warp Disruptor II
Heavy Ion Blaster II x 5 Heavy Electron Blaster II x 2
Valkyrie II x 5

The Brutix was my first, and favourite, bc.
Sixteen months and many sp after first climbing into one though i have to agree that it does indeed work best as a gank boat, however for newer players who lack the sp you really cannot go wrong with the electrons dual rep set-ups, though personally i don't mix two types of blaster, despite what several people here appear to think, you do not need to use every last drop of fitting room on a ship for it to be good.
If you have a few more skills, mainly awu, then consider adding a pg rig, dropping one rep (replacing with either a mag stab or another membrane) and you can fit a rack of ions.

It seems a real shame not to fit a damage mod on this ship, the way I look at it 1 damage mod gives you more survivability than an extra eanm. It's a whole 20% extra damage from 1 slot.
So for me, same as a cookie cutter but:
low: 2x mar II, 1x eanm II, 1x dcu II, 1x MFS II

i use the similar setup, and i fit some rep rigs cause theire cheap :) but for gangs i go with a more damaging setup:
7 x electrons II standard pvp midslots 1 x MAR II 1 x 800 mm Rolled rungsten 1 x EANM II 1 x DCU II 1 x MFS II
dont bother arguing with me, cause im allways right. Well at least sometimes. |
