lemme see if I've got this straight.
I do missions non-stop for my level 3 agent.
I kill countless NPC pirates to get 3.2 security status.
I somehow raise my concord faction by 0.4
and it's all taken away with this stupid 5% weekly faction decrease?
I'm gonna go kill some n00bs.
Seems that's what CCP wants everyone doing anyway..

Security Rating also suffers a 5% decrease per week?
So that explains why I was 1.3 and am now 1.2.
5% is a bit excessive for the casual player with little time to play.
It should be a 20% loss of whatever faction/SR you've gained during the week.

yes i noticed it tonight as well. thats more sec status than most people can make with 14 hours a day straight missions, and they take it every week. this isnt funny CCP, you've taken many peoples hobby and turned it into something reminding me of forced labour, even before the patch sec status didnt really mean anything anyways (couldnt bounty hunt) but at least i didnt get screwed EVERY week, just on patch day. pirating for a a few laughs seems to be the only thing left to do, at least i will have earned the status decrease, and i can see that getting old almost as fast as missions. |

Calm down folks ... it is clearly not the 5% decrease per week if you lost all of what you gained, or half what you gained ... that is, unless you are already at a significantly high rating.
if you had 10.0 standing with a corp or faction, you would lose 0.5 and be down to 9.5. If you had a 5.0, you'd lose 0.25, and go down to 4.75. If you had a 2.5 rating, you'd only lose 0.125, and go down to 2.375.
If you've been losing more than that it is a bug, so petition it. They said the faction loss per week is your standing*0.95, which is NOT that bad at all.

Hmm CCP funboy. Because security gain is bugged now why we shall loose our hardly build security ratting.
I dislike this idea about loosing all standings in 5% per week. I play more than 8 hours daily and I'm going down so what about people who can play less then 2 hours per day?
They will fade in few months back to 0. What a heck CCP again whole wrong idea about factions. Stop that mess and stop torturing customers.customers.

Why does our Security Status decrease? That's retarded.
Anywho.. How do you even increase your SS these days? Doesn't seem to be a way. á á

WOW wait a min... so if if i have many other agents in other corps... but i dont use them now.. they will go to 0.0 one day? what hell is???
you want all my hard work to be gone? what if i go mine or go kill some npc's or go to war etc... and i cant do agent missions...
that means i will be losing faction/standing for no good reason AT ALL??
if it was like 1% ya i would say no problem... because it would be small but 5% is a lot since if you add that all up by the end of the month it will be 20% or more since you might have other corps etc... support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

it really sucks, whatever ****ty caldari faction i had of like 2.08 now is 1.98
and i dont see it going up not even one bit.. and i have been doing agents since caster came out... oh that is great... and all those others that i have no agents with now... will ennd up very very low...
that is just SO SAD, agents already take so long to do the missions and now we get a nerf on all of them...

The 5% loss is harsh cuz it's based on how much you have, where as the gains are a % of what you don't have. (as mentioned by dev in other thread). So people with high faction, lose far more work then people with low, not only due to it being a bigger drop, but also because of the deminishing returns when getting that high it's much much harder to recover.

did CCP's developers realize that 5% decrease is against all standings?
Go and check your standing page everything went down. Did heck these dumb empty stupid heads realize that I did gain all standings over 6 months. They got halved all and now going back to zero 5% every week? How I suppose to do repair back all these factions? Even playing 24h/7days we will not be able get back all standing what we did loose over week!
Not to mention that faction standings are bugged now? Only few missions from agent does rise faction and it mess few other standings. But killing NPC pirates won't rise standing by bit even I do it whole day?
PC pirates now laugh because theirs negative standing was halved and now it fading to zero! So I see clear CCP's plan turn us all to PKers.
CCP halved all factions to give chance for notorious PKers with -10 security to be able return back to empire space. It's completely not fair! All what I see now are PKers doing agent missions in empire space...

To make matters worse, my faction standings haven risen despite doing over 250 ******* missions for my corp sine Castor. Now I lose 5%!!!! I could stomach losing 5% if the god damn standings rose a bit. This is so lame, what were they thinking?

Ya the sucky thing is i remember reading early on in the FAQ (pre beta even) and im sure i coulda found it before fixed website, is that if you go on being a god citizen, your sec rating WILL raise, but very slowly, but you can do things to raise it such as "blah blah clean space trash *hah* kill pirates, do missions etc" but now they are decreasing it by 5% for not doing anything, thats complete bullcrap. it should raise up to a 5 sec rating, and lower from 10 to a 5 if you dont do anything, but slower than 5% thats insane, how about .5% or 1% that would be a little better, but thats only for security rating, for factions it would be under a 5 standing it just doesnt move, over a 5 it decreases gradually. and thats only if say you dont do anything for them over a period of 2 weeks, it starts to deteriorate. How come your rating would go down, even though you have been in contact with them? it should be if you do a mission for them at least a couple times a week or whatnot, or after a week of not doing missions for this particular faction, your rating deteriorates, but it deteriorating whether or not you keep in touch is utter BS

As long as it doesn¦t go below 0 I¦m fine...
5%/week is too much tho. 1% would be fine, 5% is a bit out of proportion IMHO.

I've just lost all the standing increases I gained over the weekend. This decay shouldn't start until you havn't visited your agent for a week or more, not a few minutes after you walk out the door. And 5% is too much, WAY too much.
Having to commit time and work hard to stay in the same place just is not fun. I get enough of that in RL.

WTF!!!!
I spent 6 days, 12 hours a day doing missions. My sec status went from 2.00032 to 2.00035 in all that time. Now this crap happens and I go to 1.90032. UNDO that garbage NOW! I tolerated the crap you guys pulled until now, but this is the last straw.
Sorry for the flaming, but this game has been going from great to ok to crap, and I am really ****ed off right now.

People will. When they find they can't get their security status high enough to get a decent agent, everyone will turn pirate, as it's the only profession that is not ultra hard work.
This is supposed to be a game, you know the thing that people can enjoy & relax with.
Is this what you want CCP? A universe full of anarchy? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The point of the decrease is to stop players from having good standings with everyone.
5% might be a bit to much, i for sure would have passed the decrease this week in regards to all the bugs. But else it's fine.
It is in to stop ppl from investing 1 week to get a lvl3 research agent and then go back to whatever they did before they started research.
Player who actually invest all their eve time into agent missions now have a clear advantage over players who just want to try their luck on research.
I agree they shouldn't have done it this week, but try to see the bigger picture once then bugs are fixed (Papasmurf is working on it, there should be an other hotfix this downtime).
Maybe in the future they'll decide to drop it from 5% to 3 or 2% tough.
live with it, if you don't have the time, don't do agent missions. |

This 5% wouldn't be a problem if it was just possible to raise them
But both the security rating and the faction standing are soo stupidly slow to increase, you have to work months to regain what you lose in one simple week. --- soonÖ |

Edited by: Jocca Quinn on 22/12/2003 12:03:34 Shouldn't the decay only apply to those factions that you have not worked to increase in the last week ?
Not the blanket decay we currently have. I could live with that.
