Edited by: Thanos Firebringer on 23/03/2007 14:24:36 I did the blockade last night v. the blood raiders. I was w/ a friend. I was in a T2 raven and he was in a T2 typhoon. We were about half way thru the mission and i noticed my cap was at 50% and dropping. Funny thing is there weren't any ships w/in 40km of me. Has anyone else run into the long range nos of the blood raiders? Or was my mission bugged? They completely drained my cap dry on my raven w/ only hardners active. I have no problem w/ gettin nossed when it actually in range of an in game module. But 40k + nos is a bit ridiculous. Holla.
At the time my cap hit 0, I hadn't run my booster once. ----------------------------------------- Pimpin' hoes and slammin' cadillac doors......

Was your friend nos'ing you?
And Serpentis rats can sensor damp from 120+ km, I wouldn't be surprised if Raiders had a range bonus. ---

LOL...that'd be pretty funny if he was. Nah, we were talking on vent and he was gettin nossed just as bad as I was when i had to warp off.
Yeah i don't really have a problem w/ this, I was just wondering if anyone else had dealt w/ this kinda nos. I guess it would be possible that BR have a curse type ship. ----------------------------------------- Pimpin' hoes and slammin' cadillac doors......

Corpus Archbishop: http://www.npc.elfarto.com/view.php?id=24135
Old stats:
Orbit range: 44,000m NPC uses Energy Vampires: Yes Chance: 25% Amount Drained: 300 unit(s) (30 units/second) Max. Range: 10km Duration: 10 second(s)
And if CCPs fix was to up the nos range to the orbit range instead of downing the orbit range to the nos range as it should have been, you have your explanation... --------- There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Kestrel

Yup, I had that last night, almost got me in trouble, cause i was webbed at the time...
I was on a mission called "Cargo Delivery", got jumped by one group, and when I popped the first ship of that group (a 270K Cruiser), a second, much larger group jumped in. There was at least one BS using NOS, may have been more. My cap, usually sustainable with one Lrg T2 Rep, and full shiel/mods running, dropped like a stone. I warped out, and when I warped back in I immediately activated my AB, and ran to 60KM range. This seemed to solve the problem.
It seems that the BR do indeed have long range (faction, anyone? ) NOS mounted, I think itŠs fine, this way us mission runners canŠt just sleep our way through missions anymore. ________________________________________________ "DonŠt worry yourself, everything is everything" |

Edited by: Venkul Mul on 23/03/2007 23:51:26 The problem is that the people that weren't yet at the "sleeping in mission" stage will go to the "return to lower level and lower reward" stage, and never get isk for the equipment needed to find the higher level missions easy. (ok, they only need to do more grind that the people before them to get to the same stage, and that seem a common theme in EVE; those before you had to easy a time, so we nerf the double to compensate).
It is fun as the blog of some time ago was saying that the jump from level 3 to 4 was to high and that would be reduced, while now it is more like the selected solution is to put some of us back to level 3.

I have had a couple blockades against Blood, and from what I have seen safe range is 30 km. They have allways used nos, well atleast for the last year. But they didn't do much harm before this last patch.
And the nos gfx is there, from both cruisers and bs's. But it's the bs's who drains the cap, and drains it fast. Very fast
Just warp in on 50-70km and it's all safe. But I wonder how the final stage on WC will be like, and maybe Vengeance....oh and Ritualistic Raids. All the deadspace missions where you land on top of them....

Well, I would expect the Corpus Archbishop to use the 40km Corpus Nos. --

Corpus cruisers were nosing me at 40km+ yesterday. Went from 10k cap to 100 cap in 15 seconds... O_o
Make it more realistic.

Nerf NPC NOS
I guess NPC NOS is kinda overpowered if they empty ones cap in 15 seconds. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many

lol, this explains my cap-problem when I had a couple of Popes against me earlier today =P(or it was some of the lesser ships causing it, I turn off those effects to save miself from lag)

They do still show the NOS graphic. It is just very hard to spot unless you are zoomed in and tracing it back to the rat doing it. Also if you are NOS'ing something it makes it even harder to spot.
I also just did the mission "Cargo Delivery" last night. The archbishops and a named guy seem to be able to NOS you from 30k out, maybe more. I think there are also some cruisers in that mission that have a pretty rediculous NOS range too. http://www.placidreborn.net
