People have been having this problem leaving stations, but I flat can't even log in. I logged in a pos. Gave it the ol' Cntrl + tab and yes, my ship is in space, but I'm stuck at "checking navigation systems". Given theres no chance in hell I could even ask someone to pod me so I can log in, I'd like something to be done about this.

Only solution for that is to totally delete your cache folder. I had the same problem and nothing else helped.

Don't delete the entire cache next time. Save the 'Settings' and the root contents of the cache dir (patches and prefs.ini) and replace into the new cache created by the client.

I had the same problem. And it seems it was a problem with the Char files. I was able to log on on another computer. And docked to a station. Than, logging back to the comp that didnt work first, i saw that the navi comp was total bugged. Showing me jump pathes of 2 million jumps to a system only 2 away. After deleting the settings folder all worked again. So it must be the Char files that were corrupted.

I have had more or less the same type problems: Unndocking - stuck on "checking Nav systems" and also maps freezing so that I cannot see maps nor get back out. After petitioning and going through different things, I ended up removing eve and doing a fresh install. No more problems now! Member of the Empyreum Corps. |

For what its worth, I had a similar problem. I logged in, undocked from the station and got stuck at "Entering Space" progress bar and couldn't get past it. I *renamed* my cache folder to "cache1" and logged back in. The first login was longer (Downloading bulk data or some such) and then the game was fine. I was able to navigate in space and dock/undock freely. Of course, I lost all of my personal settings unless I'm willing to copy and paste the subfolders back over to the newly created cache folder. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I renamed the cache folder instead of deleting it.
As for why this seemed to happen, it seems as if you use the map screen in setting certain destination routes, the client gets hung up on it later. Last night I was messing around trying to set autopilot destinations to Jove and GM space (which is impossible) and then the next time I tried to undock I got stuck. There is another thread similar to this one where people reported similar problems.
Good Luck.
