Ok, I have no problem with the deacy of the percentage guys. But, I do have a problem that I did on the order of 250 missions since Castors release and my Faction standings never increased, not one bit. Now, I lost 5% off of that. I assume that this was know, but it would nice to get an official comment about how to address this. What I mean is, is this a know issue? Or, are there certain agents that give special missions out? I have tried more than 10 agents from my npc corp and still nothing.

Only 'Important' missions raise or lower faction standings. |

This is a beaut for pirates. How many pod kills does a 5% per week decay give them free ! none of us are free as long as one of us is chained none of us are free |

negative standings used to decay by about -0.1 every 12 hours or so anyway jocca
its just now that all standings decay by 5% (*0.95) one per week (apparently on a monday then)
the idea being you have to work to keep standings up rather than just getting it to a certain point and loafing off it - if you work missions regularly anyway it wont effect you that much
Back more to the original point, Important missions are the only ones that give faction increases, they have/had last I heard from papasmurf a 1/30 chance of occurring .. from personal experience I'd say its acting a lot worse than that .. and 250 missions without one is way over the top :/ (by law of averages of course should have had 8.3 of them
I've not had one at all for the last oh two days, maybe 80 missions myself, but had two on the first day after the patch . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Yes there is working for it, and working too much.
At present you fail to accept a mission you loose more faction then you gained doing heaps of missions.
If an agent approached me with a crap job I would ask him what others he had. Sure, if I declined 3 or 4 on the trot he might be ****ed off, but if I accepted one of them whats the issue? You should not be Forced into accepting a mission just because NOT taking it is worse then taking it.

I have to agree here, the faction hit is either way too much or the increasing of standing is way too slow... I'm inclined to lean to the latter because otherwise you may as well not have a decay at all... I think the decay is fine, as long as it doesn't take AGES to make it back... There has to be time for other things as well, you know...

Maybe you guys who are not getting important missions are doing something wrong?
I got three yesterday including 2 in a row from different Lv3s. Over all since Castor I've had 7. I don't understand why people have to complain every time there is a change....even if I hadn't recieved a single important mission it wouldn't have had a huge impact...the 5% drop in standing can be recovered very very quickly...it's only a few missions if you are low.
If you are high (like 7.5 high) the loss would take longer to get back but c'mon...if you've got a 7.5 you super hard-core anyways so that won't be a problem.
To recover your faction you only need two important missions a week. if one week you don't get any, maybe the next you will get 5 who knows...

I'd agree with the decay, if not for one thing - I was doing missions for my agent all weekend, and -during- the scheduled degradation.
If you lose faction through neglect, -this- makes no sense, since I wasn't neglecting that agent. If they put a grace on reduction for any agent you've done missions for in the last 24 hours, it'd make at least a little more sense. You'd still focus on the ones you want to keep, and not lose faction with them.

Yes, but how many mission do have to do before you get an important one? My guess is that some agents are bugged.

As an addendum I just got another important mission not five minutes ago...my faction is healed. They key is to have a lot of agents in the same station so you have access to more missions...

That also means doing all the missions, Pinkoir, because as of today I believe, if you don't do the missions, abort, reject or ignore you will be taking standing hits with the agents - possible also faction standing, although not completely sure about that.

Yes they are, Papa mentioned that they should give more important missions (whatever they are, I haven't done agent missions since implants got in game)

I have also noticed that, when your mining and you kill pirates, that your sec standing never changes. I have been out mining everyday since caster release and no increase in sec standing, but it has decreased. WTF? Is this a bug?

Edited by: White Tiger on 23/12/2003 01:23:38 I ran agent missions today for three hours and did not receive a single "important" mission.
I think I have only received 1 of those since castor...It made my Corp rating go up by .5 and my faction standing went up a whopping 0.1, which I immediately lost (and then some!) today during the scheduled decay.
In that three hours I have not even come close to regaining the status I held Sunday.
BTW...As with Lurch, I have not received a single sec rating bonus from any of the 'rats that I have killed. So after losing .8 points due to Castor I lost another .1 points due to the Decay. Guess I am gonna either have to get used to the idea of three months being wasted and live with being a 0.0 (and all the penalties that come with it) or just quit the game...
Edit: And like Jocca said...The Pirates actually benefit from this policy. We get shafted and they get rewarded...This is too much like real life....

Lurch, currently there is a real ****ty timer on the sec standings gained from killing NPC pirates. basically in every 10 mins of combat only the larget sec standing increse from 1 (yes ONE!) pirate will be added to your sec rating.
In short they have nerfed concorde sec standings (by halfing them), and have given us no real way to regain them. thus playing into PC Pirates hands .... because they can kill anything living in a system below 0.5 and above 0.0 (without a care for sec rating, cos they like having low sec ratings). anit-pirate players cant because they will be getting sec hits with practically NO way of getting it back.
Added to this the STUPID prices of ships now (specially BS's) and totally laughable insurance prices/payouts. I dont think my ships will be leaving the hanger for the next month or 2 (idle with skill training). Unless they fix the game anyway

Dweia...That timer hasn't worked since Castor was released...According to a GM I talked to they are "looking at" the problem and promised to fix it with the next patch...Until then be prepared to watch your sec status plummet with no promise of reimbursment.

Edited by: Dragonday on 23/12/2003 05:14:29 That's just wrong, we all want to have fun too. The mind numbing agent missions are ok to pass a bit of time, but to take such large hit CCP should reimburse. This is turning out to be worse than Earth and Beyond with the constant need to do agent missions. Then getting nothing for them, in fact loosing as your doing. I had a .41 with Six Kin, now I have a .39. Why am I bothering? Why are any of us bothering? To get neet new toys? Skill Packs? Implants? What's the point if your going to loose faction and have to start all over again. The patch log said if you neglect an agent you'll loose faction, not if you work all the time on one. As for loosing security status as a whole blows even worse... CHANGE IT BACK CCP.. Or as I've said before you will soon see a MASS EXIT of the game, and then what?? No money for CCP, CCP goes Bankrupt, and all the people go back to the games they played before eve.. Poor CCP because they were to CHEAP to make work RIGHT!
