* "I've decided to take my research elsewhere."
* "Are you sure you want to cancel your current research project? All your points will be lost."
... say what? that's now what the response was in the beta builds... but it's just ~130 points so far so may as well test it...
* "Yes"
bam. project cancelled, research points indeed gone... no data sheet in the hangar with stored results achieved so far.
... May i politely ask "wtf"? :s
Being able to exchange/sell research results --even if it was quite limited with the papers matching the specific agents-- was one of the nice things of this new rearch system... was it removed, and if so, then why? o.O

removed due to exploitability. Will be coming back in some form in january, I'd assume.

... Yay. :/
(better make it triple check then or i can already imagine what happens when someone cancels their 10+ k of RP thanks to usual lack of attention or whatever... "move research elsewhere" doesn't exactly convey the meaning of "lets just burn all the results we've collected so far" ;)
What was those exploits, btw? Maybe if they're listed people could chime in with possible ways to block them, and the whole system would be back faster...

In another thread someone mentioned that the exploit was that larger corps could collect all their RP:s on one agent and "get a huge chance to get a bp". However, I don't really understand how that can an exploit as I thought each RP was 'one ticket' in the BP lottery. And if that is the case, there should be no difference in collecting all RP:s in one place or just keep them spread out between cooperating players.
So I guess that cannot be the exploit Papa Smurf is talking about here?; Or am I wrong about the 'one rp = one lottery ticket' dynamics?

one rp=one ticket is exactly how it works. I tend to agree, having all the corp's RPs collated together and sunk into one project isn't giving them any more chance than if they have 15 members all collecting the same RPs and agreeing that any blueprint they get goes to the corp coffers.
Whether that was it or not, I don't know. If it was an exploit whereby you could illegally gain points, they're obviously not going to tell us what it was.
