Again TQ is late starting up (when it eventualy will) and again CCP has made no warning or msg that they where planning on doing maintenance and subsequently delaying the startup. This isn't the first time this week. The lack of PR and communication towards the Public from CCP is getting rather troublesome. This isn't the right way to deal with your customers.

The new patch was the stupidest and most unnecessary patch I've yet seen in any game.. And it has caused nothing but problems

I must agree that it is getting a little annoying. and that they have a problem why it starts a lttle later is not so mutch the issue for me. It is like maraudersan already mentions the lack of communication that is annoying. If there are known issues and you expect the server not to be back in time, add an extra warning to the shutdown message. And if it happens that during the downtime a problem occurs, again, place a message. Preferably with an ETA.

well the problem is that i have a hobby and friends.... and that i am supposed to leave in a few, and probably won't be back till after the weekend, and i really hoped to set my skills before i left.
BTW. server starting up now.... hope it won't fail to do so :D

Its the lack of communication that bothers me, not the late startup, they obviously knew they where doing maintenance, else they wouldn't have waited for the downtime to do it, and how hard can it be to ajust the welcome text from:
"Scheduled downtime every day between 11:00 and 12:00 GMT.
-Revelations 1.4"
to
"We are going to run a bit late people, we should be back in a couple of minutes"
Edit: oh and i'm waiting for the server because i have set a short skill and since i have more then this game to do, i want to change it to a long skill before i go out...

when they mentioned downtimes day after patch people whine about that. whiners will ALWAYS find something to whine about... yes it annoying, i dont like it, but im far from bothered. and as far as communication goes, it might not be good enough for you, but it is by far the best ive seen for an mmo.

i don't know about other mmo's. this is the first, the only, and as long as the game is alive it will be the only one :D
however, the entire downtime thing is a bit.... outdated... and why a full hour? what are they doing in that hour?
the only true reason to have downtime, is to prevent software issues to mess up your game. in other words only to ensure memory leaks and sutch won't consume the system.
