Which it isnt and its a bit of a joke that the coalition (not TCF in particular) insists on using the term "free". Im quite sure who ever came up with the concept isnt stupid enough to not know what the word means, and in this case having to be blue to the coalition doesnt quite justify calling it a free tradezone on these forums (which are public to all eve users). In the context of these forums it can only be called a "free tradezone for coalition allies and friends". Not to flamebait but i can only assume that this persistent use of the term "free trade zone" is yet another attempt by the coalition to appear as the 'liberators' (which any1 who's played eve for more than 6 months knows is a bit of a laugh isnt it..). People outside said zone, therefore not part of the free trade zone, cannot access "freely" to the free trade zone.

Yet you mix up the difinitions, unless the coalition has removed all taxes etc from sales? and afaik this isnt what is being 'offered'. its just a case of all _allies_ being allowed to dock at all stations (and whats so unusual about that in 0.0 btw?). consequently applying the real world term 'free trade zone' to what the coalition calls 'free trade zone' ingame is misplaced and what is being offered cant be called more than a 'all blues have docking rights zone' :) Also in real world tradezones, non-traders dont get shot for parsing through ;) i suppose that would be the most noteworthy difference in any case ;) be carefull with the real world analogies.. eve is too simplified to use those as arguments (pseudo since arguments by analogy rarely are actually valid). .:: Kriger's gfx Factory ::.

As for trader to not be shot, yes and no, if you're bringing goods illegally in the EU (or any other trade zone) they will be confiscated and you'll have to pay a fine. In eve when you get shot you don't die... you just lose money, which is basicaly the same. You can argue however you wish, but the Free Trade Zone IS what we call a free trade zone in RL. It's not the same as free beer.

I think we can only agree to disagree then ;) IMO the term doesnt apply even remotely - its a free dock zone, not a free trade zone unless u want to make a new seperate definition of it for eve ingame use. Generally applyng real world logic to ingame mechanics is misguiding given the context, and signals something _some_ may interpret incorrectly.
