Is this the NPC Corps standing towards the players corp.
If so does this mean to get a research agent your own corps standing needs to be at a given level? |

Also - does this mean it will be a lot harder for small corps to get research agents? |

I think that effective corp standing won't be used for anything until Shiva.
You are talking about NPC corp/agent standing towards your corporation, correct? ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

Edited by: Lowery on 23/12/2003 03:12:59 Papa Smurf quotes:
Quote:
Anyhow, to talk to any agent except a tutorial agent or a research agent, your effectivestanding must be:
((level-1) * 2.0) + (quality * 5.0)/100.0
Your effective standing is your standing number, modified by any appropriate skills. The appropriate skills are Connections, Criminal Connections, and Diplomacy, each of which will give you a 4% bonus per skill level if they are appropriate. See below for info about added a bonus % to a standing number. Connections kicks in if your npc corp->char standing is positive. Criminal Connections kicks in if the agent is a criminal. Diplomacy kicks in if your npc corp->char standing is negative. These skills do not stack.
So which standing number is it? Whichever of these is best for you: npc faction->char, npc corp->char, agent->char.
Then there's an exception case, the research agents. Because of their immense worth, and to limit the impact of a myriad of old standing system bugs in Castor, they not only require the aforementioned criteria to be met, but also require you to have an effective corp standing of ((level-2) * 2.0) + (quality * 5.0)/100.0.
I read this to mean your corp standing needs to be at a given level as well for research agents. Or am i reading this wrong? Lowery/Hollborn 7th Space Cavalry |

Yes that is true. But if you are in a smaller corporation your corp standing goes up faster. It increases at a rate based on the relative sizes of the NPC and the player corp.

Thanks Masako. I just wanted to clear this one up. All this standing stuff can become a bit complicated.
I like this idea though. It means corps have to work together to aquire tech2 bps. This is the way it should be in my opinion. |
